Gary Thorne. Is calling NHL hockey again! I was I not informed of this! He’s the best play-by-play announcer I remember. The only person I think even come close to him is Bob Cole.
The Great Alexei Kovalev and His Great Shift
First of all, I remember the shift happening, I don’t remember that he actually drew two penalties and scored a goal!? Not only was it a 5 minute shift, it was an effective one!
No coasting; he’s still doing stops and starts with at the end of it (check the 6:45 mark of the full video).
Here’s the whole shift. The total video, including stoppages, is 10:10. He was on the ice for over 10 minutes!
