With Beast of Reincarnation being shown off, I think it should be stressed that Game Freak isn't the primary developer of the game.
It's actually a part of their Gear Project initiative, where one team of developers pitches game concepts to upper management, and the ones that sound interesting get funding, an outsourced team, and a release to the public (usually.)
So yes, this means that much of the Game Freak staff that works on Pokemon games has nothing to do with this, and only ten or eight devs will be credited (not guaranteed).
We already knew something of Beast of Reincarnation back in May 2023, when Game Freak revealed it as Project Bloom, an action-adventure game being co-developed with Take-Two's (now sold off) Private Division, who probably handled most of the heavy lifting.
Other Gear Project games:
HarmoKnight
Tembo the Badass Elephant
Giga Wrecker
Little Town Hero

I absolutely LOVE post-post-apocalypse media!
I love being able to piece together from table scraps how what happened affected the now!
I love the descriptions on how a certain event triggered the collapse of society!
I love how the society in question bounces back and rebuilds!
I love the lingering remnants of what was still having a very faint grasp on the world!
And Guilty Gear tics all of those boxes! Mostly in a anime fighting game lore wise kind of way but still…
I love the details of the Gear Project being an indirect cause of the downfall of society by being on the main causes of a horrible one-hundred year war!
I love the rough and tumble horror that occurred during The Crusades and how it affects our cast!
I love how the horrors of the past change and develop the characters and setting in the world!
I love how the banning of tech introduced the common world to magic and magi-tech!
I love how the Gear Project made an entire race of being that humanity fought in the Crusades now wish for peace!
I love the passing of the torch and moving on from the horrors of the past is symbolized in Sin taking Ky’s duties as a king of Illyria as a half-gear!
I LOVE post-post-apocalypse stories! And Guilty Gear is one of the best.
Thanks to a friend on Twitter, I found YET ANOTHER Error in the P.W.A.B. Reports. (Postwar Administration Bureau Reports)!
As you can see, the first image is a screenshot from the original PS2 version of Guilty Gear XX (or X2 in American regions). The second image is a Japanese text mode version of Korean GGXX Reload.
Still can’t see the mistake? It’s a big one!
It lists the Gear Project itself as having happened in 2099. This is COMPLETELY WRONG!
The only time the GG Bible ever even mentions 2099 is when Frederick Saved Kliff Undersn from a Gear when he was 6 years old (this year was even mistaken in Xrd Sign years later as 2097). The original (Ed Chang from GameFAQs) translation of the GG Bible refers specifically to Kliff Undersn. And you can read the source right here too!
GGXrd states that the original Gear Project itself began in 2014 and ended tragically in an accident in 2016, but was restarted by the American Government in the year 2042. It didn’t make headway until 2060, and Justice wasn’t even “completed” until the year 2073... and that was before Japan was destroyed a year later in 2074.
So there you have it... while the “translation” in this case, is technically correct... the information source is NOT!
So unless 2099 refers to an alternate timeline of events, IT DIDN’T HAPPEN!

Another Inbox Message from Gear Project for all to see.
Just wanted to repost this Message from my good friend, Gear Project.
I hope the Shakugan no Shana fans like this as well. Especially for those who wanted to understand what the quote Shana herself said in the series.
