A quick way to induce a plugger existential crisis: be a service worker and say "no problem, you're very welcome"

Ce-Turaga Mako for @geardirector‘s bday! Happy Birthday my viking sun
You seem conflicted about what your stances are currently.
Consistency is a spook
Are there any individuals from the Star Wars universe you respect? Grudgingly or otherwise?
The late Sheev Palpatine comes to mind. Perhaps an obvious choice, since we have much in common, but anyone who manipulated his way into galactic domination is worthy of some respect.

It took me a few seconds to realize this was a Roman history ask and not.. something else.
* Ahem *
Traditionally it was Roman fashion for men to have clean-shaven faces, until the emperor Hadrian (reign 117-138AD), who wore a beard and made it fashionable. He had a passion for Greek things, and the beard was more associated with Hellenistic culture. It might also have been to disguise a blemish or a scar on his face. From Hadrian up to the time of Constantine the Great (306AD) all the emperors had beards.
Speaking of Hadrian, one of his favourites/his lover was Bithynian youth called Antoninous. He mysteriously drowned during a journey up the Nile river, and Hadrian mourned him intensely and publicly. He had Antoninous deified (a relatively common practice within the Imperial family, though normally not done for those outside of it), and created a formal religious cult for his worship. A great many statues were made of him, more than a hundred of which survive today, making his one of the best known faces from the ancient world. Games in his honour were still held in several cities in the 3rd century, and the cult of Antoninous continued to operate up into the 4th century.
