Glanced back at an old WIP from Binah pov and got hit yet again by the idea of Binah being drawn to the battlefield, and the place where people scream in pain - nowadays, that's frowned on, by her colleagues, but it's what she was used to and conditioned to for so long.
She has to temper the desire for the bloodlust to boil over, calm herself.
Much like Gebura, who takes to a lot of meditation these days, because there's quite literally nothing left to fight outside of Receptions, and not even that once they're in the Outskirts.
So then, of course, they get drawn to each other. Not even anything as romantic as a love-based connection at first, even. Just the fact that they're the only two in the entire Library who are on each other's level and who enjoy the concept of violence.
And tbh, I see this no matter who they'd end up being shipped with, even if it's purely platonic between them, because as I said - theyre's a burning in them that isn't really in any of the others.
The nuggets might well have fighters in their ranks, but they won't be Colour Fixer and Arbiter level. They wouldn't last five minutes against either of them. Other than them, there's Angela (that's their boss, and who creamed literally anyone back in the day) and Roland (who... has already fought them and it wasn't fun and no one enjoyed it; I get the impression he doesn't see himself on Gebura's level either).
What else do you expect to happen?
Me, I see them suddenly turning on each other seemingly at random, everyon in the vicinity gets unnerved or downright scared, only to have them break off some time later and instead of actually having been out for blood they just go "Good fight! Do better next time."
Physical violence has a language all of its own. If nothing else... I'd imagine it'd be rather lonely not having anyone to share that language with, who can really "talk" to you in that way. To understand what you mean when you move in a certain way.
And, yeah, I do love the idea of them going from "actually hate each other" to "belligerent colleagues" to "keeps poking each other" to "everyone is weirded out because they have inside jokes that no one wants context for" to "the kids [read: the nuggests] have a betting pool up for how long it'll take to see them kiss."
