Hi there! I’ve recently come to consider myself an alloromantic asexual person (I use aceflux as a microlabel). Once I felt settled on my sexuality, I started questioning my gender. I’m AFAB and still really new to the queer community, but I really love unisex clothes with slight feminine traits (or without sometimes) and I think I really like the idea of using she/they pronouns. I feel like the way I’d want to describe my gender is equal parts femme and gender neutral. Like femme flavored neutral lol. I know that the labels I choose are really just to help me feel comfortable, but does it sound like I might be a demigirl? Or maybe a slightly agender or gender queer woman? I suppose I’m wondering if you could help point out the differences. Thank you!
From what you are saying here it sounds like any of these labels could apply, the main difference I see between them is how broad they are.
A genderqueer woman is a woman whose gender is queer in any way. That can include trans women, gnc women, lesbians, and any nonbinary people with a connection to womanhood (for example genderfluid, bigender, or demigender people who are partially or sometimes women). Genderqueer is an incredibly broad term and so is genderqueer woman.
A demigirl is a person who is partially a girl. There may or may not be more parts to their gender, but at least some part but not all of the gender is girl. This falls under the umbrella of genderqueer woman, but it's a more specific term.
Lastly, an agender woman is someone who is partly agender and partly a woman. This could mean that they are bigender agender and woman, demigender agender and woman, genderflux/-fluid between being agender and a woman, or any other variation of the identities. It falls under the genderqueer woman umbrella and can fall under the demigirl umbrella.
I hope this helps

gender of the day: wizard but I live in a little hut in the woods. I have enough hats to wear a different one every day for at least two weeks. and I do. my partner and my animal friends are happy and I love them. there are bees. I am wearing a little black wizard hat today. it's made of felt.
I saw a post (forgot the username) saying that guy stuff has become gender neutral and girl stuff hasn't.
Like, you'll see a basic flat shirt and say that's the default/ for a guy. But a padded shirt to give boobs more volume is not the default, 'cause it's for a girl. And in cartoon movies for kids you'll see a dog and say that's the default/ for a guy. But the dog with lipstick on is not the default, 'cause it's for a girl. It's also weird go put lipstick on cartoon animals, but that's not the point.
I think the point the original post was making is that it's unfair towards guys, because they're seen as basic. Perhaps I misunderstood them. I think it's more about how when a girl has boy stuff, it's fine in many places. Boy colours (blue/ green), boy hero's (superman/ batman) and boy toy's (cars/ dinosaurus) are fine for girls. But when a guy has girl stuff, it's a problem in many places. Girl colours (pink/ purple), girl hero's (wonderwoman/ captain marvel), and girl toy's (princesses/ fairies) aren't fine for boys. I think this is why there's a clear devide between girl and boy stuff, but boy and gender neutral stuff is more of a gray area.
This is bad for:
- Girls: seen as less than boys, so they're treated as if they're always one step below.
- Boys: aren't allowed the pretty and fun stuff girls are allowed, wich is connected to the whole boys don't cry shit.
- Trans/ non-binary people: not seen as boy or girl enough and the gray area between genders is seen as an even lower step.
I'd rather have girl stuff also seen as the default. There's nothing enhirently girly or boyish about colours, hero's or toys. Also, gender is already a kind of vague and gray area. A girl with short hair, good driving skills and a diploma about a science degree 'like a guy' is still a girl. A guy with a dress, good knitting skills and a diploma to become a librarian 'like a girl' is still a guy. There's not this one thing that makes you a guy or girl, but how many factors are necessary to make an actual devide between boys and girls? I don't think it's really possible to make that devide, since gender is kind of a gray area, 'cause the norms and values for it have always been changing through different time periods, different places and different cultures.
This is ofcourse very generalised and not the case for all places. But I'd like to hear other opinions about the reason why the guy stuff is the default and girl stuff is this whole other category.
