I’ve been working on Geeknasium with some “business minded people” and whenever we start talking about my target market, the biz ppl always whisper the word “nerd” like it’s a dirty word or say “if feels funny calling them that.” 🙊 And I’m like NAH!!! Being a nerd is something to be PROUD OF! When we totally geek out about the things we love it’s because it MAKES US HAPPY - and maybe for a long time we’ve been taught to not be so enthusiastic or be ashamed of the things we love - BUT NOT ANYMORE!! You shouldn’t be ashamed to celebrate what makes you happy (ya know, as long as what makes you happy doesn’t like, harm others??) I’ve taken the word NERD into my own hands and redefined it to mean I’m passionate, creative, and care a whole damn lot. How about you?! It’s not an insult.
