🔪GORE YOUR CORE💀 Day One: ☠️Skeleton Plank☠️⁣ ⁣ Happy October 1st!!!!!! ⁣ Today is DAY ONE of Gore Your Core with #Geeknasium. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Hands directly under shoulders, push yourself into a firm plank and hold as long as you can - basically until you get all shaky and sweaty and can’t hold it any more! Time yourself because on day 31 we are gonna do this move AGAIN to see how our core strength has improved! ⁣⁣ ⁣ Here are some tips for proper alignment: keep your hips in line with your shoulders and/or hold a flat spine (this means no arching the spine, no dipping hips toward the ground, and no booty’s in the sky!), rock your weight into your heels so your arms aren’t doing all the work, firmly squeeze energy into your core & glutes to help! ⁣ ⁣⁣ SWIPE to see some modification options if you need to come to the knees or forearms. Here is your Disney Sidekicks Core Workout!!! ⁣ ⁣ Save this post to come back to when you’re ready to try it 💖💖💖⁣ ⁣ Yeah, so I got a tiktok! You can follow me there if you want - same username @heatherboddy ⁣ ⁣ This workout is supposed to be a #Geeknasium exclusive [in fact, the FULL 35 min workout is available to Geeknasium members only, DM me for details] but I figured I would share some of the moves since we are all stuck at home 🤗⁣ ⁣ For the Disney Sidekicks Core Workout, do each move for 30 seconds the stretch and repeat on the opposite side. Do this 4x. ⁣ ⁣ Here is a breakdown of the moves: ⁣ ⁣ 🕯 Candlesticks: One knee down, opposite leg long with toes pointing forward. With Lumiere arms, use your obliques (side core) to tilt away from your body, come up slow and controlled. ⁣ ⁣ ☃️ Olaf Obliques: Same arm same knee on the ground. Crunch your lifted knee to your lifted elbow and extend away. Keep core tight and chest lifted, body open and long. ⁣ ⁣ 🕰 Cogsworth legs: lie on your back with your lower back pressed to the ground. Take one leg up and make large circles to open the hips. If you hear popping, it’s normal. If the hip hurts, do the motion with the knee bent. ⁣ ⁣ 🐯Rajah Walks: hands under shoulders in plank, walk the knees in under the hips in a hovering position. You can drop to the knees if hovering is too hard. ⁣ ⁣ 🐷 Pua Plank Taps: Hands under shoulders, knees hovering under hips, tap opposite hand to opposite knee. ⁣ ⁣ 🦎 Pascal Planks: Forearm plank position, 2 hip dips, tap right arm out, tap left arm out. When tapping out, try to keep the hips square to the mat/ground. ⁣ ⁣ 🧀 Gus goes for cheese: Crunch position with elbows wide behind head and feet hip width apart, crunch up then tap the feet out and in, keeping the lower back pressed into the ground. ⁣ ⁣ 🦗Cri-Kee’s: press forehead into mat with heels together, toes and knees apart, lift the upper thighs off the mat and squeeze for 3 pulses, then release. ⁣ ⁣ 🦞 Sebastian Walk: Lift back off the mat, hands under shoulders, knees under hips, walk forward and backward while kicking the legs! ⁣ ⁣ Ta-da! Once Upon a time there was a sad nerd who felt like they didn’t belong in fitness. ⁣ ⁣ The gym was an evil dragon that needed slaying, but the sad nerd was sick of trying to tame the beast.⁣ ⁣ Every time the sad nerd got all dressed up and went to the gym, they left feeling like Prince Charming had just fit the glass slipper on their Ugly Stepsister’s foot. ⁣ ⁣ It was dreadful! ⁣ ⁣ But one day the sad nerd woke up with new motivation to SLAY the gym dragon!! ⁣ ⁣ This motivation came in the form of a workout program called #Geeknasium ⁣ ⁣ Geeknasium helped teach the sad nerd that the gym dragon WASN'T ACTUALLY EVIL, but something to befriend. ⁣ ⁣ Like a fairy godmother, Geeknasium prepared the sad nerd to face obstacles such as the gym, lack of motivation, and also inspired new recipes that sad nerd actually WANTED to try! ⁣ ⁣ In a happy ending, sad nerd had found their happily ever after with health, wellness, and exercise. I’LL GET YOU MY PRETTIES!!! 🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️ ⁣ Your #GoreYourCore #hexercise for the day is called Witches Brew 🧹🧪⁣ ⁣ Today we are going to double, double, toil and TWIST our way to stronger abs! When I teach this move in my class I always say, throw those arms like a witch brewing a potion ... and my class always looks at me like 😳😳 but not you!! ⁣ ⁣ You are going to twist from side to side while throwing your arms. We will do 100 Twists (which is really just 50 on each side).
