What if your great love DIED and you’re so devastated that you got a LOBOTOMY about it so you can forget her. And you still carry your grief everywhere you go but you don’t fully know why you feel so EXHAUSTED. But it turns out she is actually ALIVE and AT YOUR JOB but you don’t recognize her because you DON’T REMEMBER HER. And you’re in a TOXIC WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT and your name rhymes with SNARK. And your girlfriend is the daughter of your EVIL BOSS.
gem /dʒɛm/ (noun) 1. a precious or semi-precious stone, especially when cut and polished or engraved. 2. an outstanding person or thing.
not sure if anyone has pointed this out but the blanket mark uses in 2x03 to try to burn "who is alive?" into his retinas is the same one they had on their couch in 2x07.....something about how mark stashed everything that reminded him of gemma in his basement, and he only lets himself feel connected to her in moments of desperation or self-flagellation
Nooo I’m doing great just thinking about how Mark Scout never made cold harbor Gemma do anything she didn’t want to do. He offered his hand but he didn’t drag her out when he easily could have—maybe should have. He let her make the choice to step through the door. It almost feels very unlike him but he’s also aware he’s encountering basically a child form of Gemma. “There’s a kid out there waiting for us, we just have to reach out and grab HER.” He always imagined his child as being another Gemma, not another him. Whatever. Don’t come looking for me you won’t find me.

there is something so beautiful about the mark and gemma reunion scene not having a line or moment where gemma ponders why mark might be covered in blood. something so precious about the love she's been longing for suddenly appearing in front of her DRENCHED in blood and, seemingly, all she takes note of is that it's him: his face, his eyes, his smile, his body. it's mark! the death and violence that coats him is secondary to him being there at all :) just very nice to think about
polyamory as a side effect of reintegration. Like mark was exclusively monogamous but his two consciousnesses had monogamous attraction to two different people. And then were sewn back together. What can you do.
