W9: Which fic has been the hardest to write?
I gotta say the Old Guard AU, Stay - the original installment, anyway. It was my first attempt at a fanfic, and got abandoned so long it ended up being like my tenth ever actually posted. You had to bother me into finishing it at all, it took forever to get to an ending for that one. In a close runner-up for an entirely different reason, the research for the prequel was a challenge sometimes lol
10: Which fic has been the easiest to write?
So arguably my stupid christmas fic was the easiest to write, Christmas Prince. However I want to also say that that was because I was following the script of a different movie pretty closely, which is what made it so easy, and it resulted in some pretty out of character stuff that I’m really not that happy with now that I’ve written more. So, of the fics I actually like, I’d say my regency AU, Dance With Me, was the easiest to write. I was very inspired, I didn’t have to do as much research because it was a topic I already knew some stuff about, and it got written very quickly.
14: What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?
Oooooooooh boy do I ever have stuff to say about this. So I took a few creative writing courses in my undergrad, and one of them was a course on writing short stories, with the most typically pretentious white man english prof I’ve ever known. Entire dick. And he had a lot of bad takes on writing, but some of my favourites: genre fiction is Bad, only Literature will last and we don’t want to write for the Uneducated Masses. Don’t put anything too currently political in your writing, as it will date your work and make sure it won’t last beyond the current political moment. Because everyone’s goal when writing is to write the next unforgettable literary work that people will read for decades to come... no one could ever want people to just.. enjoy reading their work............ noooooo surely not..................... anyway he was stupid, he wrote pretty much exclusively short stories about world war 2, so.
