i migt start using she pronouns again and also .ashley instead of ash can someone use both for me pleas
gender + sexuality in most accurate terms (which is basically a mouthful i'm probably never going to recite again and only being used as an explanation rather than something i'll use over and over bc fuck that shit i'll just say i'm gay i'm too lazy for this): no gender, greybiromantic asexual, with "bi" used in the definition of "attraction to your own gender and one or more other genders," those genders being all nonbinary genders (attraction is highest for nb people) and girls (still high). no attraction to boys at least at this point in time. grey- isn't something i'd normally use since (for myself) i consider it just a Thing rather than part of MY sexuality, but i put it there just as a descriptor-- basically i very rarely experience significant romantic attraction at all. i've had probably one or two crushes ever (just pointing out that this may just be bc i'm young but this is just what applies right now). for asexuality i'm sex-repulsed when it comes to myself, but i'm just not caring when it comes to talking about it as long as i'm not involved. as for gender, i have like... no sense of it, not even agender, so just???? not. applicable
again this probably has no use other than rambling about it since i'll just call myself gay or queer anyway but if anyone was lookin 4 some Lengthy Description (u weren't)
wait yo about your non-binary gender swap post, i just wanted to say that... at least in terms of visual art, gender /expression/ is what is being swapped. you could draw a character completely canonically and say that in this picture, they identify as a gender other than what they identify as in the series. someone could /be/ a demigirl, but not look like however a demigirl is """supposed""" to look... all i think is that, descriptors like fem! and masc! and andro! suffice... (1)
Anonymous asked you:
(2) however, i see where you're coming from in terms of fanfic and stuff like that. because that's where you get into the character's mind and can see stuff about their identity. but in terms of art it's just... it's really just gender expression that's being changed... i do wish there was more variety with the swaps, but then that gets complicated because fem and masc is kinda subjective. i'm genderqueer myself, and sometimes i present masc, sometimes fem, but it doesn't change my identity...
Anonymous asked you:
sorry if i misunderstood, i just think that some aspects of that post you made are a little... problematic i guess...
i get ur point and i Do agree with you which is why i think you might have misunderstood my point
(before i start bc i dunno where i'd fit this in, i'm talking about when people say for a fact that the character IS the other binary gender (and sex). if it's just presentation being changed, that character can def still be nb)
yes, that's true, someone could say a character identifies with another gender... but the thing is that no one does. in (almost) everything i've ever seen, it's not gender presentation that's being swapped; it's explicitly stated to be the character's gender, as well as their presentation.
when they're doing 'gender swaps' i highly, highly doubt a lot of them are thinking in their mind "okay, this one's a demigirl even though she presents in a feminine way." my point was that, in 'genderswaps,' 99% of the time what happens is either:
1) (assumed) cis girl character is made into a cis boyor2) (assumed) cis boy is made into a cis girl
it's DEFINITELY awesome when people fuck around with presentation and gender identities. it's only the fact that the ONLY things people state clearly that they're changing a girl character into a boy character or vice versa, both before and after assumed to be cis.
like the problematic parts are:
1) implication of an 'opposite' gender2) little to nothing with nonbinary genders, not even ones that present femininely or masculinely. just. none at all.3) equation of gender and sex-- people will change a cis girl into a cis boy, for example, changing sex too instead of JUST changing gender or presentation.
i dont know if that makes sense but if u have questions ask bc im 99% sure we're both on the same side here but theres misunderstanding somewhere
(also i'm not exactly sure how to word the parts that talk about sex right so as to not exclude intersex people so if i said something wrong or anyone has tips on that feel free to say so)
