Color + lighting studies I did using scenes from me own fanfiction <3 I’m pretty proud of how they all turned out! I tried breaking down what emotions specific colors can evoke or relate to and how I can use that in my scenes to portray specific emotions with mostly color alone. The first scene is of Garroth and Aphmau, the second features Zenix and Garroth, and the third is Gene and Aphmau. (click/tap on images for higher quality)

so. i may be a.. huge multishipper.. BUT ALSO a big fan of character dynamics!! and these four silly goofy guys have filled me with the joys of writing and drawing and its amazing.

(how i feels about the dynamics under the cut)

garmau is kind, but tragic and hopeless. he stood no chance against ANY of the other men in Aphmau's life, and was too scared to admit he had feelings for her very early on. it's clear he likes her, but Aphmau is too oblivious to tell. and, of course, it ends with a broken friendship, and Garroth gone forever.

laurmau is HOT, its SPICY, and ITS SO HONEST. Laurance fell hopelessly in love with Aph, and was straightforward from the beginning. although he came on too strong, he develops a close relationship with Aphmau, and ends up truly loving her. but, because Aphmau was uncomfortable with his earliest advances, she waved him off. later, when she truly did love him, someone else stepped in. and ruined everything they had.

genemau is hilarious. specifically MCD Rebirth genemau. from what little we got to see, it's a purely chaotic and entirely dysfunct dynamic that is INCREDIBLY funny. however, Gene is the kinda guy who secretly cares. a lot. so he slowly opens up with Aphmau and lets his guard down almost completely. and Aphmau is oblivious, so she just thinks hes an awesome friend and someone she immediately will care about. they would be the kinda couple that everyone else looks at and knows they're dating, but the couple in question has NO idea.

aarmau in mcd is something im not exactly a fan of. i can acknowledge the ship and appreciate Aaron and Aphmau as two separate characters, but seeing as im not that far into mcd just yet, i can't actually say much on the two together. however, i LOVE the trope about a dirty, broken man who sees an absolute baddie and IMMEDIATELY goes "oh yeah i can fix myself for her. definitely." but uhh he ruined laurmau so I HATE HIMMM GRAAAAAHH (silly)

WAHHH I'm already a day behind because i spent 12 hours on an art piece only to totally hate it and start again from scratch. I decided to adapt this snippet from the Lovers Lane Halloween special because I wanted to draw vampire Gene very badly.
