Tyranitar
Moves: Stone Edge and Crunch make a powerful stab combination, hitting the vast majority of Pokemon. Pursuit is the main draw of Tyranitar, trapping many threats on the opponent’s team while supporting your own. Earthquake can take care of Pokemon like Magearna.
Spread: Maximum attack investment with an Adamant nature and a Choice Band gets as much damage as possible out of Tyranitar. I like maxing out on speed investment on this set. I know some people run some HP, but I find maxing out speed to be more consistent. Sand Stream is by far the best ability to run for the added Special Defense and the extra chip damage.
Team Support/Usage: Tyranitar is a powerful wallbreaker with this set, capable of breaking past the vast majority of Pokemon with its sheer power. It also has a decent defensive typing and some bulk, making it a critical defensive asset to patch a hole or two. As such, Tyranitar can be a great asset to offensive teams if given the correct support. Of note, its fantastic when pared up with Excadrill from the sand combination. Besides that, Tyranitar can still pair up well with most sweepers who appreciate the removal of Pokemon like Lando or trapping a myriad of threats.
