Contrary to my limited knowledge of grammar and pronunciation, Tidily is not pronounced Tide-ily, which would make sense, given the sea, the canals, and the way the water seems to meet and fold into itself around the town. It’s shorter: Tidily. Like tickle... or Tin Tin. Don't ask me why.
The oldest part of town is the Historic Centre, north-west of the Old Wharf Cut. Narrow stone paved streets, aged facades, buildings that look almost medieval.
Except... I’m almost certain they were not there when I first arrived.

Hand of Time: Updated Bios
Many gen 1 characters have gone through a lot of progress, and their profiles don't exactly portray who they are right now anymore. I feel like rotation 11, before the Homeland Arc, is a very good point to write up some small updates.
Victor Beldine
Despite the picture I've chosen for him, Victor is more or less in a very happy place in his life right now, growing more in tune with his newly acquired Balthazar soul part every day.
His lack of spine finally brought Victor to his lowest point. With his hands bloody and soul forever marred by the crime he committed to fulfill his wife's cruel whims, he was taught a proper dose of being assertive. Gone is the servile aloof anger-riddled party boy. Today's Victor is much less volatile and more conscious of his mental health. He hopes to turn a new leaf and make up for at least a part of the damage he caused. He found three new sources of purpose to funnel his heaps of energy into – magic, teaching at a university, and fatherhood. Despite the horrible mistake and well-earned consequences that led to all this maturing, Victor can be proud of himself – but will this character development be enough?
Victor's 3t2 traits changed to: Grumpy, Overemotional, Neurotic, Night Owl, Bookworm and Proper.
Aranni II. Beldine
I'm sorry for the reused picture. It's just that I love Aranni's face here so much. She looks so full of wonder.
Playful, uncaring and desensitized to violence through her father's criminal activities, young Aranni was very prone to childish cruelty. Having actually caused the death of Balthazar Elaho-Inipp, though, was a tough wake-up call. Seeing the consequences of her play backfire on the people she loves, Victor and their children, shattered her world. The horrid fallout of their crime also made the issues caused by her interpersonal behavior to culminate, and Aranni finally agreed to start unlearning her twisted worldviews and work on herself in therapy. Slowly, she's making herself more emotionally available and kinder.
I've decided to up Aranni's Playful points, because I unfortunately started writing and conceptualizing her character that way, and I can't go back. Also, I'm exchanging her horse-loving trait for Family-Oriented. She will never meet a horse in her entire life.
Serenity Elaho-Inipp
Unfortunately, I'm making this article before a big photoshoot centering Serenity, so I have to reuse her makeover picture. Sorry. Fresh Serenity pictures in the next article!
The losses, degradations and scuffles life in the whirlwind of a clan war put her through have left a very visible mark on Serenity's psyche, and undermined her youthful determination to pursue peaceful coexistence. Her impulsivity is now largely gone, having been forced to become much more calculating. Given her busy career life, political position and her propensity to enjoy time spent with animals more than her own species, Serenity has also become way more withdrawn. It might seem that the only dependable constant in her life is her wife Stella, but we'll see where it goes…
It could be said that she's on a downward spiral, at least when it comes to her own mental health and wellbeing. Despite that, Serenity has had several opportunities to give in to her grief and hatred and compromise her morals heavily and never acted upon them. Will that change when she learns that Stella betrayed her, too?
There's no need for any mechanical changes in Serenity's Sim info.
Iulius Fiera
It might be fair to say that Iulius went through the exact opposite of Victor's character arc. Having his anxieties about not being good enough largely come true left and right, and feeling the ground crumble under every step has made Iulius retreat to a way more unstable, extreme version of himself. He feels like he's been losing authority and influence (or, more accurately, failing to gain them in the first place), so he subconsiously tries to grasp at straws and keep himself relevant by going more and more radical. Not to mention that his social ties get weaker every rotation and he spends more and more time reading political magazines and browsing forums for men with similarly sad lives. Similarly to his sisters, he was brought up to believe many things that debilitate him socially and contribute to his almost total emotional constipation, but unlike Aranni, who has been faced with a "start changing or be abandoned" ultimatum, Iulius's surroundings so far somewhat tolerates his demeanor. So far...
I'm exchanging his Sculptor trait for Mean-Spirited, because, well, he's been acting that way. (and my Sims sadly have no option to sculpt as a hobby)
Nico Devir
The other side of the "thumbnail" picture for Shadows Serene.
Nico started out as a kind of silly young man who got a way too serious role to fill, but aside from being generally a very kind person who wanted his flock to get along and be happy, he didn't have much agenda. Some things haven't changed. Nico is still fully devoted to serving the Entity, and the passing of time also didn't take away his gentle nature. He is, however, much more jaded, and his chaotic jokester side rarely shines through. Not even all his faith could've protected him from becoming slightly bitter and disillusioned with the community he swore to sheperd. He realizes now that many have used his kindness to take from him and keep taking, giving very little back. He is from the definition of his role always expected to sacrifice his own needs and happiness for others, but no one has ever been willing to make any sacrifices for him.
He loves his daughters and is glad he can be raising them, but he is fully cognizent of the fact their mother, Quincy, wormed herself out of most parental duties and left him to bring up two children as a single dad in addition to his priesthood... just because she could. Just because she knew Nico was too gentle to stop her or to give her any proper social pushback.
He loves the part of his job where he gets to be sort of everyone's therapist. He has a psychology degree, and if he wasn't in the clergy, he would most probably become Wormville's first legit psychologist. But when he admitted that he's having issues with the sheer amount of work on his shoulders, and feels like he's drifting apart from his friends and family as a result, his mental health tanking, most of the people Nico views as close to him unilaterally agreed he should basically "man up" and cope.
Maybe it has been enough. Nico is no longer beating around the bush when it comes to his opinions on many of Wormville's pressing problems, and he will try to have his way. Maybe it's time to bring some order to his flock... and to his personal life, as well.
Do you have a favorite Wormville character, overall? (across all generations)
Yes, and I'll tell you who in the comments! (and make your day)
Nope, I don't feel strongly about anyone.
Nope, I feel strong negative feelings about every single worm.

I would also include Lester, Wynn and Quincy, who I feel all also came quite a long way, but I'll save them for a different time. (article too long) Anyway, back to the regular scheduled programming! (Homeland arc)
