Historic Centre of Tidily

Contrary to my limited knowledge of grammar and pronunciation, Tidily is not pronounced Tide-ily, which would make sense, given the sea, the canals, and the way the water seems to meet and fold into itself around the town. It’s shorter: Tidily. Like tickle... or Tin Tin. Don't ask me why.

The oldest part of town is the Historic Centre, north-west of the Old Wharf Cut. Narrow stone paved streets, aged facades, buildings that look almost medieval.

Except... I’m almost certain they were not there when I first arrived.

Historical Princess Series: Aurora (Disney-inspired)

What do we actually know about Sleeping Beauty?

The story takes place in the 14th century, and Prince Philip tells us so. He is, by the way, one of my favorite classic Disney princes. First of all, he has a NAME. And kind of a personality. And in the original fairy tale, the princess slept for 100 years, while the prince didn’t even bother to be born on time, while Philip was super efficient and managed it in a day.

So, 14th century fashion it is.

Aurora wears a cotehardie, a fitted medieval gown decorated with fleur-de-lis and a rising sun, because Aurora literally means "dawn". Her sleeves are adorned with tippets, and her crown is based on the real crown of Princess Blanche, complete with pink and blue gemstones.

And why choose between pink and blue when you can have both?
