It’s been a long time since we’ve updated our little Nuzlocke story here, but here’s what happened the last time we played;

“Our time on the SS Anne was so much fun! The team and I battled so many fellow trainers on board, and thankfully taking some naps in a room that we were provided helped keep everyone in top shape. Having Gladiolus, Gale, Maus, and Ella by my side that day was so enjoyable. We did have the misfortune of running into Blue, or as Katana calls him “soup”. He had been training as well, and his team put up a good fight but in the end we were victorious. After a long day of battling, Katana and I did some dancing, hung out on the top deck for a while, and attended the dinner party where the Captain actually taught me how to teach one of my Pokemon how to Cut thick branches and shrubs. After that night we headed back to Vermillion to rest and plan our next moves.” - Sikka

It was quite the workout just to explore the multiple floors of the interior, but finding new and tough opponents as we went along truly tested the limits of the teams capacity. Bagel Bite the Nidoran and Dishwasher the Geodude pulled their weight heavily in this sequence of battles, and they were rewarded with seats at the table for that night's dinner party. Genlocke Adventure

so I'd been mentioning to friends I was doing this, but I have a blog so may as well post: I've been doing a Genlocke, a variant on a Nuzlocke.

For theunmitigated, a Nuzlocke is a self imposed challenge mode for playing a Pokemon game. The rules can vary, but the big ones are 1. If a pokemon faints it's dead and you can't use it and 2. You are only allowed to catch the first (new) pokemon you encounter. The Genlocke is an expansion: you play one run across many generations of pokemon (I'm doing Gen 3* through 7). When you beat a game, you take the champion team to the next game...but every time you lose a pokemon it's gone for ALL future games.

Ive already started....so I'm going to give a summary on the two games I've done and then update as I do things.

My game itinerary is:

And here we have my team from the 6th leg on my GenLocke run: Dusk the Crobat, Elsa the Pyroar, Axel the Swampert, Mercury the Lucario and Vince the Banette. This was another run where I sadly lost a 'mon during the Championship battle, that being Chomper the Tyrantrum. I switched him out against Cradily so he could set up Stealth Rock (this helped me greatly during the battle since most of Steven's Pokemon have the Sturdy ability), and he ended up getting KO'ed by a critical hit Giga Drain. We'll never forget your sacrifice, brave dino. Now I have just one leg left (Moon) before I'm finished with my GenLocke run. I'll be sure to draw that team once I'm done, so stay tuned!

GenLocke Alpha Sapphire Part 3 - Watts Up, Wattson?

- Taught Thief to Autumn.

- Lost Autumn to the Team Aqua grunt's Carvanha in Slateport Museum. (Rough Skin + Assurance = Dead Pumpkaboo)

- Added Chomper to the team.

- Entered Mercury in a Coolness Contest and won.

- Received the Contest Pikachu. (I'll probably never use her since I already had one in this run.)

- Caught Blythe the Plusle (Lv. 11, Bold Nature, Good endurance) on Route 110.

- Taught Rock Tomb to Chomper.

- Mercury evolved into Lucario after a trainer battle on Route 110.

- Fought against Brendan on Route 110. Axel OHKO'ed Slugma with Mud Shot. Sabrathan switched out, got hit with Fury Cutter and Quick Attack, hit Grovyle with Gust, got hit with Quick Attack and finished off Grovyle with Gust. Sabrathan hit Wailer with Psybeam, got hit with Astonish and finished off Wailerm with Psybeam.

- Lost Oroku to a trainer's Wailmer on Route 110.

- Added Blythe to the team.

- Missed catching a Marill on Route 117.

- Did some grinding to help Blythe catch up with the rest of the team.

- Easily defeated Wally's Ralts thanks to Blythe.

- Fought against Gym Leader Wattson. Axel hit Magnemite with Water Gun, got hit with Tackle and finished off Magnemite with Mud Shot. Axel hit Magneton with Water Gun, got hit with Magnet Bomb and finished off Magneton with Mud Bomb. Axel OHKO'ed Voltorb with Mud Shot.
