Decided to make my own little blog, mostly for my art but for other things as well!
Here's my Carrd! Make sure to read it!
I'll be making art I want to draw-usually fan art related to content I love, but I also got a Pokémon comic series in the works, as well as sharing any self ship stuff I make!
Some valuable tags:
#selfindulgence-mainly my self ship art!
#Through the Generations-my Genlocke comic! (here's the masterpost)
EDIT 12/20/23: Letting you all know I do not send anon asks with my signature. If you encounter a nasty anon with my signature I am being impersonated
To celebrate the official release of The Amazing Digital Circus finale, I decided to upload something I made one week ago-my TADC sona
Inspired by various Godzilla type action figures (you know the ones with moveable parts), and a little bit of Rex from Toy Story. Tito is best described as a “gentle giant”-soft spoken unless pushed to rage, extremely careful, and always willing to lend a shoulder to cry on.
I don’t care if you’re not good at it in the beginning. It takes time to perfect a skill. I’ve been drawing for years and only on my most recent piece have I finally felt satisfied with my art (and it’s not even finished yet lol)
You, whether human, non human or somewhere in between, were born to create. To use your hands, paws, claws, fins or whatever it is you may have to make something beautiful.
“But ai makes it more accessible!!!” No. Creativity has ALWAYS been accessible. It just takes that one little spark to start something beautiful. That one sentence to write a masterpiece, that one line to draw a masterpiece, that one stitch to create a masterpiece, that one instrument to make a masterpiece. Disabilities don’t get in the way of creativity. Yes it may be harder but it’s about finding what works and how to use it effectively.
“But I can’t do it as well as others!” It takes time to find what works for you. To find your artstyle, your style of music, your style of writing. Practice makes perfect. It’s taken me years to reach a point where I’m content with drawing that one thing. I still have many years of practice ahead of me. It’s slow at first but the moment you find that spark, that inspiration, you can allow it to bloom into something beautiful.
“But ai makes it quicker and easier!” Then you’ve missed the point of being creative. Being a creative isn’t always about the finished product. It’s about the process. The pencil that’s just the right shade for what you need, the bass that sounds perfect for your song, the stitches that relax you, the paragraphs that perfectly describes what’s going on. It’s the little things before the finished piece that make being a creative fun.
“But it’s so boring!” Then that specific thing isn’t for you. Hobbies are so SO much more than art, music or writing. Reading can be a hobby, diary’s can be a hobby, journaling can be a hobby, walking can be a hobby, gaming can be a hobby. Explore hobbies, find one that works for you.
Stop using ai for all your needs, learn to think for yourself, learn to question the world around you, learn to appreciate the small things in life, learn that everything is possible. Learn.
Learning isn’t something that stops the moment you leave education. It follows you through life through the mundane things like learning how to pay bills to the more fun and interesting things like learning how to create or learning about that creature or culture you’ve always wanted to know about.
Stop hesitating about learning or doing something. Trust me, the more you work on putting the phone down and spending some time with yourself, the better life will be.
So some asshole has thought up a new Tumblr scam: it's a post on a Tumblr account that's named something to make it look official-ish.
Variations include:
account-help
account-sync
account-update
account-updating
These posts show up on your dashboard, telling you that because they think you've monetized your Tumblr account, they're putting you in the penalty box sending you to the cornfield setting you to "Lurker Mode" where you can post but no one will see your posts. And, naturally, all you have to do is click on the helpful link to give tumblrsupport your account data to get it fixed.
Friends, this is a big fat lie.
The official location of Tumblr Support is https://www.tumblr.com/support or https://support.tumblr.com. And guess what? They'll already have your account information.
Tumblr has no such thing as Lurker Mode.
If you right-click on their link, you'll see it's a munged/shortened link. You can go to a site like https://www.expandurl.net to expand that link and see where it takes you: it's not Tumblr Support.
@staff, please be aware this is happening.
Be aware. Be careful. Don't give your account info to anyone. Be safe, and happy blogging!
doodled some baby ultra beasts (edit: now it’s all of them!)
info below the cut :3
baby nihilego (UB phoresis) is a pure rock type. it doesn’t have access to its adult form’s mind-altering poisons, but it will still try to sit on other creatures’ heads, possibly hoping they will transport them somewhere new as they aren’t very good at the whole “moving efficiently” thing yet, either. it’s more or less just a smaller nihilego, given how baby jellyfish are just smaller versions of their parents
baby buzzwole (UB pest) is a pure bug type. while it has wings, it isn’t very strong yet and can barely fly, though it is incredibly determined when going after prey. it’s more of an annoyance than a threat, and typically has to go after slow moving or sleeping prey to actually get a chance to bite them. it’s based off of a mosquito larvae (albeit with wings) and the red parts on its head resemble overinflated pool floaties
baby pheromosa (UB nymph) is a pure bug type. they lack adult pheromosa’s pheromones, but will follow their parent’s scent trail very closely, learning crucial behaviors through mimicry. despite adult pheromosa’s aloof appearance, they will fiercely protect their young, keeping the curious, exploratory child out of trouble. it’s mostly just a smaller pheromosa, since baby cockroaches also just look like smaller versions of their parents, but the antennae shape is supposed to resemble a bow
baby xurkitree (UB spark) is a pure electric type. they will float on the wind to disperse from their parent, plugging their tails into the ground once they find an adequate spot. they will sometimes be seen linking together, forming long, twinkling strings. they are based off of christmas lights, specifically the spare bulbs, and when they evolve, it’s like a lightbulb bursting
baby celesteela (UB sprout) is a steel/grass type. as seen in the anime, they can be found buried underground in a dormant state awaiting proper growing conditions. once unearthed, they grow at a rapid rate, evolving quickly into celesteela. i didn’t design it, but its design is based off of a bamboo shoot and a swaddled baby
baby kartana (UB cut) is a grass/steel type. while they seem small and harmless, they have a tendency to spin rapidly towards anything that catches their attention, struggling to stop and slicing into it or even getting stuck in walls and trees. sometimes adult kartana can be seen commanding small swarms of them. i struggled with this one, but they’re based off of paper fortune tellers and ninja stars
baby guzzlord (UB hangry) is a dark/dragon type. they will gladly eat anything that is presented to them, remaining jovial and endearing so long as they have something to snack on, but will throw rather destructive tantrums once they get hungry again, letting out terrible, shrieking cries. adult guzzlord often abandon their own young out of annoyance, preferring to pursue their own gluttony alone. their design is mostly just a smaller version of guzzlord, though they vaguely resemble a jack o lantern, and the patterns on their knees resemble band-aids
baby stakataka (UB component) is a pure rock type. it is less of a baby and more like a single piece of the group making up an “adult” stakataka, these pieces very rarely being seen on their own. when crossing paths, adult stakataka won’t redirect their movements, each group sort of passing through each other and swapping pieces in the process, potentially as a way to share their knowledge. researchers disagree on whether it an individual piece would be called a “stako” or a “taka”
baby blacephalon (UB pop) is a fire/ghost type. when hit with a physical attack, the balloon making up its head will expand, stronger attacks causing larger growth. when significantly stressed, it will explode into a shower of confetti meant to stun or distract its attacker, allowing the body to run away, regrowing its head shortly after. i mostly just wanted this design to look weird, but it is loosely based off of those carnival games where you hit a target and it inflates a balloon, those confetti balloons where the confetti mostly sticks to the sides, and those toys that can’t be knocked over
just a comparison between Suigimori’s official character art from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to the originals. The redesigns are pretty great in my opinion
The Pastoral Symphony from Fantasia has got to be my favorite segment from the whole movie. I love the vibrant colors, the animation, the centaurs interacting with the centaurettes.
it breaks my heart to know that there are so many beautiful souls out there questioning their worth because someone they loved made them feel unlovable
ironically enough, bringing a plushie to a public setting as an adult requires a tremendous level of emotional development, and attempting to shame an adult for having a plushie in public requires a significant amount of immaturity. this applies to a surprising number of things.
As someone who was called a slur (the one that rhymes with “maggot”) by one member of a group of teens, only for the rest of the group to scold the hell out of them and apologized to me on their behalf, how a person reacts to a comfort plush in public is a great way to show how mature/immature someone is
I started using Head and Shoulders ten years ago for itchy scalp and dandruff, and then for ten years I have not had itchy scalp and dandruff, so I thought “why do I still buy shampoo to combat itchy scalp and dandruff when I do not have itchy scalp and dandruff,” so I stopped buying the shampoo for itchy scalp and dandruff and can you guess I have now? Can you predict what currently afflicts me? It’s alright if you can’t because apparently I fuckin couldn’t either
Cutting something out of your life because you think you don’t need it any more only to realize that it was in fact working as intended and preventing a problem that will return should you stop doing this is a good experiment to run periodically with something small like dandruff shampoo, lest you start to think it would be a good idea to do this with like let’s say public health and the social safety net and vaccines
I had a liver transplant when I was 14 and like six months later I was chatting with my surgeon and he said “there’s gonna come a time, probably when you’re a teenager, where you’re gonna think, ‘I feel great, why am I still taking all this medication? I haven’t needed it in years.’ and you’re gonna want to stop taking all this medication. Guess what’s gonna happen then? You’re gonna go into rejection and your liver is gonna start failing, and you’re gonna be dying again, and we’re gonna have to find you another liver. So don’t do that.” And I said “why the fuck would anyone do that?” and he said “people are stupid.”
every once in a while when I get annoyed by a pharmacy or don’t wanna get out of bed to do my drugs I think “ugh, this is dumb, why do I do this?” and that conversation slams into me like a truck and I remember that I am, in fact, stupid
My uncle took heart medicine & after it was prescribed he took it the rest of his life. His wife (my aunt) was visiting her sister & he stopped taking it, cause he felt fine. And he died.
So yes, sometimes that medication is for the rest of your life because if you stop, you die.
