gentle reminder to reach out to your teachers. escpecially if they've encouraged it. you don't have to go in depth on to why you have stacks of missing work why you have no energy for their class. you can try asking for an extension and just say "i've been unable to complete this work (optional: for personal reasons). can i turn it in/do it later".
it can be scary. scary to reach out for help, to admit you're stuggling. scared for their response. scared what is too much or not enough of a reason. scared of what to say in that email.
but you can do it.
template that worked for me (you can obviously modify if you need/want to):
"hi [teacher],
i was wondering if i could take the [quiz/exam] turn in [assignment]at [later date]. i was/have been [unable to study (for personal reasons)] [unable to complete the assignment (on time) (for personal reasons)] [or other reason you want to go more in depth]. (*i feel unprepared to take it today*).
thank you,
[your name]"
(parentheses are optional. you might want to add personal reasons on assignments if you want to explicity say it's because of reasons other than lack of understanding course material)
*if for quiz or exam, optional
you don't need to tell them that you've been struggling to get out of bed or you're having panic attacks every day or whatever the reason.
you can do it.
best of luck.
