Ellen Churchill Semple
Ellen Churchill Semple was born in 1863 in Louisville, Kentucky. Semple is regarded as one of the leading geographers of the 20th century. Her 1903 book American History and its Geographic Conditions became required reading in geography classes throughout the country, and used as a model for teaching American history until the 1950s. In 1911, Semple published her best known book Influences of the Geographic Environment, with its controversial thesis that human behavior and culture were shaped primarily by environmental factors.
Ellen Churchill Semple died in 1932 at the age of 69.

3. Why isn't Puerto Rico a state?
4. Are Puerto Ricans US citizens?
5. Can Puerto Ricans vote in US elections?
6. Can a Puerto Rican be president of the US?
7. Does Puerto Rico pay US taxes?
8. What kind of government does Puerto Rico have?
Geographers/Geography major grads: what keywords do you use when searching for jobs?
"Geography", "conservation", and "sustainability" apparently are not worlds to use, as they're often applied to business and sales positions (of which I have no interest).
I'm looking for jobs in conservation of natural resources, park naturalist positions, urban sustainability, and the like. I'm NOT looking for a job in outdoor sales or construction, nor environmental services (which often means working with hazardous chemicals and materials).
Any help?
