Anyone else check the dimensions of their future apartment to determine what size tank they can have to upgrade their snake? Which would then allow them to upgrade their gerbils?
Totally unrelated..I’ve been researching how to make a gerbil safe “cage topper” for a 40 breeder that would actually be nice for them instead of wire flooring..
Small Critter Cage with Accessories
Small Critter Cage with Accessories
Nice little cage for small critters. Top opens on either side as seen in the photo.
Condition: Used. Seems in decent, usable condition. Pretty dusty from being stored in my garage. Was not mine originally, so I don’t know anything about its history. I would suggest a good bleaching and air drying before putting your gerbil or hamster in it.
Dimensions: Forgot to measure, but it’s probably…

This is what it looks like now. With the wheel for her. Now Abby can go crazy while we wait for her sister to arrive (what will be sometime after new year).
Side note: The wheel is properly supported. A brick is the base and the stand of the wheel is held by a flat stone on top of it. I put litter over everything so you cant see it. A solid stand is crucial when you have animals that dig under eeeverything. 👌🏼
Also, as usual, I want to point out that this aqua is normally covered. Otherwise Abby would end upin Yuna's belly pretty fast 🙈
Some great gerbil cage ideas; be careful with those wire wheels though... I would stick with the comfort wheels to be safe.
Are you sure that's a picture of a dwarf hamster? Are you really sure?
I'm working on converting a 55gal aquarium into a split gerbil cage for my two female rescue gerbils
I'm going to have glass platforms cut to attach at different heights in each divided section so it'll be a bit less boring since currently they seem to want to be alone I'm not sure of the best way to attach the platforms.I've read non-toxic aquarium sealer is safe, but will it hold up with the extra weight of a wheel or whatever?
also my boyfriend is worried they might try to chew the glass and it could break off and hurt them(I kinda doubt it) any advice?
