Cool little detail in Asterix and the Cauldron that 1) the village has a council and 2) These four compose it. I was a bit surprised to see Cacofonix, but it makes sense that a bard would hold a position of some power - in The Golden Sickle, it’s stated that he’s the kids’ teatcher (alongside with Getafix, according to Secret of the Magic Potion).

One of my all time favourite animated films. I'm a big fan of the Asterix comic books and this was the first Asterix film I ever saw as a kid back in the 1990s. I remember hiring it from my local library several times over.

I'm tired of that in fandoms replacing the main cast with useless new characters. I just re-watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and the ending pissed me off. I loved that series because of the Guardians team, not the bunch of supporting characters. The only ones left from the original team were Rocket and Groot, and the rest are who knows who.

It's the same story in the Netflix series Asterix, and that pisses me off too. We already have a bunch of cool characters, we don't need new ones! Why should I watch some Roman girl who will be forgotten by the next movie just like Pictine? Or the one-day leader Copasetix? Who is he even? He wasn't in any of the comics, why is he here? To take up Cacofonix's screen time? I don't get it. Why are the roles of the main characters Cacofonix, Fulliautomatix, Unhygienix reduced to 4 words for all 5 episodes, and a minimum of action, only the simplest and stupidest. The bard sings badly, the blacksmith always fights, the merchant sells bad fish. That's it. Is that all that can be said about them? And what about the 40 comics in which they actively participated? And in the end, from the original cast of characters, we are left with only Asterix, Obelix and Panoramix, and all the rest have evaporated. Thank you for taking the time to talk about Geriatrix, it was very unexpected to see him in the role of a coach. And otherwise, anyone is constantly on the screen, but not the villagers.

My dear creators of new films/comics based on Asterix, stop cramming us with new heroes, focus on those who have existed for 60 years, and we already know and love, and we will all be happy
