Ok guys, so I was re-watching the World championship programs and bumped onto this German broadcast and the commentator is just so sassy, he bluntly shaded Nathan for his skate by “rudely and sarcastically”(his own words) calling him the World champion of the “Eissprunglauf”. The German world for Figure skating is “Eiskunstlauf”: Eis-ice; Kunst-art, artistry; Lauf-run, move; and “Sprung” means “jump”. He then continued that Nathan unfortunately had to leave the “artistry” out and said that he’s not sure if that should be the future (of the FS). He also later explained that even though the choreography was nicely made, Nathan had too little time to show it in the program.
Well, I do agree with the commentator on the Jump-skating part, but I feel like they are too harsh on him sometimes… I’ve seen worse, rougher commentary though, so this one is actually pretty toned down.
The only thing I understand in German commentary is James rodriguez
