DCLA QUESTION OF THE WEEK!
This week… let’s talk about our wonderful Mexican characters! We have a wide variety of them… we got Leon, Simón and Luna! But we also got… Gery. Oh, and Marco too! And small characters that only appeared for some episodes like Ana and DJ… and Daniela in Soy Luna (seriously, why is it a running theme in dcla shows to have crazy exes from Mexico like Ana and Daniela??)
What do you think about the Mexican characters? Any favorites? Anyone of them you dislike? Any that you forgot even was Mexican? Tell me all about your opinions on the Mexican characters! 🇲🇽
alright so first i think on my first watch i only knew marco and ana were mexican. while like i’ve mentioned i was really surprised to find out león is mexican and i’m pretty sure i found out after i finished watching because as far as i’m aware the english dub never mentions it. gery i also don’t think i knew was mexican but i think i had a feeling she wasn’t argentinian. and dj i JUST found out is mexican when i started rewatching s2 😭
but now let’s do a little ranking from worst to best (in my opinion of course)
at the very bottom of my list is gery, of course. i hate her ass so much. she is just so pathetic. like her existence is truly sad. she also strikes me as very homophobic along with her raging misogyny.
then i guess it would be ana. honestly do not care about her one bit. i was never really invested in marcesca so i never felt strongly about her either. i just remember wanting her to get off my screen 😭
then would be dj. never really cared about him either and now rewatching s2 he’s been annoying me quite a bit tbh but i guess he’s kinda funny
second place would be marco, who i also don’t feel very strongly about but i definitely like him a lot more than the other 3 characters i just listed lol. i guess i always knew he was gonna leave in s3 so i never bothered really getting attached to him. honestly he’s just a little blah to me, just not really much there. he’s a nice guy and i definitely don’t dislike him but he’s just a little boring to me.
and of course first place is león. out of all the five mexican characters he’s the only one i REALLY like. he’s this show’s #1 man. no one does it like him. he’s funny, has so much sass, but is also really loving. i love how he pretends to be this tough dude around some people but is a cute little puppy with vilu. he’s a really good friend to everyone and a great boyfriend to vilu. and i love how supportive he is of her. he’s overall my second favorite character :)
