Land and Sea #5 ; oil on canvas; 30 x 24 inches When I started these paintings there was an urgency to paint them; titles weren’t relevant in the moment. And so I have been numbering them. But as they get larger the numbers don’t feel adequate as the personality of the painting takes precedence. This one has so much in it for me. The turquoise mixed with a touch of #cerulean gives me that indescribable feeling of calm. The visible under painting which takes on the elements of tree roots or tunnels as if something is brewing underneath.
