Need to sign up for health care? Head over to healthcare.gov to sign up for ACA marketplace insurance! Open enrollment for health care plans has started. You can do so until December 15, 2018.
[image has a beige background and blue/red text “It’s open enrollment for HealthCare.gov for marketplace insurance! Nov. 1 - Dec. 15 #GetCovered.” There is a blue briefcase silhouette with a medical cross and a red heart shape with a heart monitor symbol inside it in the image as well.]
Open enrollment ends December 15! That means if you need health insurance, you can enroll in a plan through the individual health insurance marketplace, but time is running out.
Even if you already have a plan you like, it’s a great opportunity to shop around and see if you can find a plan that saves you money. 80 percent of shoppers will find a plan for $75 a month or less. *Go to HealthCare.Gov to sign up for coverage.*
What you need to know to get enrolled:
The 2018 open enrollment period starts November 1 and ends December 15. That’s right, open enrollment is shorter this year, and the final deadline to enroll in coverage is December 15 for most states. Make a plan to enroll early and avoid the deadline rush!
New plans and prices are available each year, and plans may be more affordable than you think. 8 in 10 marketplace shoppers can qualify for a plan for $75/month or less.
Re-enrolling? Shop and save! It’s more important than ever to shop around. You may be eligible for additional savings, so make sure to log into your account, update your information, compare plans and pick the plan that’s right for you.
Free, local help is available. Use the connector tool above to make an appointment for free in person help enrolling in coverage in your area.

Does getting up on my soapbox count as a workout
Rather than working out this morning I hosted a phone bank for the first time, for the Affordable Care Act.
It’s so rare I get to write this in non-joke fashion, but The Government Doesn’t Want You To Know that you can sign up for health insurance through the ACA right now through December 15. Seriously, they slashed the promotion budget by 90 percent because they want to “show” that no one wants affordable health insurance, so they can justify getting rid of it. That’s crazy! We want and need that. If you need coverage, go to GetCoveredAmerica to get local help; if you’re in Illinois, maybe I’ll even call you.
I could tell you more about why this is so important to me personally; just askbox me and we’ll chat.
Anyway, that went well and then there is the rest of the day. I found out yesterday I would have to work right after the phone bank until 5:00. Coworkers pestered me with questions all morning like it’s just so crazy I would have other weekend plans (because I don’t normally work weekends... and have a life... thank youuuu) It has been cold sleeting rain all day, so I didn’t run before the phone bank and got soaked to the skin on the way home. Now I am missing my little crummy building gym, because I'm not sure it’s going to stop by the time I am released from duty. I’m very grumpy! Thanks for reading.
