Island of strange attraction
Last day on this island of pure hapiness and peace
To bad all that goodness will cease
When tomorrow i fly back to the other side of the world
My thoughts and feelings twisted and twirled
I might be imagining this
Maybe I expected too much bliss
But last night before i fell asleep beside you
Dont know if it’s actually true
A tiny seed was planted in my heart and brain
And today it has been ripping me apart again
It might be because of the drinking but i’ve done a shit ton of thinking
What i possibly could have done to fuck up all the fun
I can see on your face in the way you look at me
That i’m not the person you hoped i was, not so careless and free
How the seed grows, it’s vines and leaves strangling my already shattered heart
And i’m just waiting for it to fall apart
Like it did so many times before
Like the time i ran out my mothers door
Bag on my back, bag in my hand, no where to go, no where to stand
It’s very possible i have this all wrong
But this is what i do and have done, all life long
Worry and stress and fret about the tiniest of things
Trying to be the one to pull my own puppet strings
I have tears in my eyes and am about to start crying
I have the feeling that i’m dying
But you looked at me and smiled and in that tiny moment
I saw a person reflected in your eyes that might actually be a worthy opponent
