Summary: An exploration of Ghilan'nain's descent from "the most sensitive of us" to what she eventually becomes, spanning the earliest days of her birth to her escape from the Black City.
Solas guides her to a dead titan in the east, the dry ridges of its carcass a looming mountain over the inland. At its feet is a rocky basin. He tells her it was once a lake under the titans' dominion but has since dried up in their slumber. Its bed is littered with sundried vegetation, long-bleached bones, and the pungent, rotting flesh of unlucky creatures that found themselves trapped at the bottom.
Lyrium makes glowing, distorted mirrors of the walls. It is the hardened blood of the titan—crystallized carrion of a long-dead creature—dried just the same as the lake.
She scales the rock and drops into the bowl's base, where the lyriumsong reverberates with a thousand-year-long echo. The very air vibrates with it, as if she stands beneath the dome of a rung bell. Her hair stands on end; her muscles tense; her spirit is compelled.
I don't wanna lie, that's not me
I just wanna be more than a memory
If you dream about me when you fall asleep
I hope you, I hope you
Never find someone who holds you like I held you
All I want is peace of mind, can I tell you? (Tell you)
When you tell me that you love me, guess it wasn't true (Wasn't true)
But I hope you
