Ghostbusters headcanons (aka me trying to fill in the Afterlife plot holes)

Egon and Ray had a big fight before Egon left, that's why Ray apologised in Afterlife. Ray believed that Egon's disappearance was partially his fault before Egon got in touch.

Egon didn't know about Callie until after the events of Ghostbusters 2, that's why none of his friends knew who Callie was when they met in Afterlife.

Egon only found out about Callie after his ex got in contact with him.

Egon asked his ex for photos and stuff about Callie so he could have a record of his daughter's achievements, because he knew it was too late to have a relationship with a daughter who undoubtedly hated him.

After a while Egon began to dismiss people's ghost issues, claiming that Gozer would be coming back, and that nobody's ghost problems would matter when that happened. None of his friends believed him I mean he was right but y'know. "We're ready to believe you!" until it's one of your best friends?? What great friends am I right.

Peter and Winston were devastated after Egon left. Peter had known Egon the longest, while Winston knew he could always rely on Egon for the scientific stuff (also because they were friends).

Egon Spengler Relationship Headcanons

author’s note: i did implied nsfw for this but decided last minute not to add them bc i personally cannot see egon in such things, if that makes sense. so no nsfw hcs. (again, this is a personal opinion and decision. don’t feel discourage by this.)

•You met Egon through Ray, he introduced you two and you instantly had an interest in the scientist.

• After awhile, Egon began to feel more comfortable with you and this blossomed into a friendship.

• You listened to his theories and watched him work long nights. You brought him coffee, occasionally sweets when he requested.

• Time went on, you fell in love with him and it became a little hard to hide it because you two were always together. Little bumps, skin contact, light touching, you always felt your face warm up and your stomach did flips.

• Ray knew you liked Egon but you were too embarrassed to admit it. He was happy to hear this because he knew Egon had a thing for you as well.

• Eventually things fell into place with Ray’s help and Egon confessed to you during one of your long nights. This caught you by surprise and you thought he was just tired but he assured you he was being serious. You just smiled at him and gave him a date before leaving for the night.

• After that date, came along many other dates and you both became official. You loved Egon so much and it came easy when talking.

• Egon was never the one for physical touch so you always asked him if it was okay to hug him or hold his hand.

• One night where he was staying at your apartment and he had brought his work along, his hand found yours as you read a book. You felt yourself smile a bit because it felt like a natural reflex.

• Egon slowly began to move into your apartment, first came a few pairs of clothes, then his toothbrush and comb, then his books, then eventually you asked him to move in with you. He only said,”I thought I already did.”

• You often wore his shirts to bed, he didn’t mind because he found it sweet. Just as long as it wasn’t his important shirts.

• Whenever Egon came home late because of work, he would find you laid out on the couch. He hated that you would stay up just for him and he reminded himself to have a talk with you.

• Egon was a lover of sweets but you had to remind him to drink his water and eat healthy sometimes. Occasionally, you would spoil him by getting him his favourite chocolate bars but that’s pretty much it. You wanted a boyfriend for a long time, not a short time.

• He’s not the one for nicknames but he didn’t mind anyone giving him them. You often called him honey or love. He can’t lie to himself and say he doesn’t like those nicknames which are meant for him only.

• Your first kiss, you both were tired but he still had work to do. When he told you it was okay if you wanted to go to bed. You just looked at him and leaned in for a kiss. He didn’t move and just let you kiss him. You told him it was time for bed, he just asked you to do it again. You gave him another kiss and he kissed back. After that, you asked him if it was now time for bed, he answered with a yes.

More Real Ghostbusters headcanons! Coffee edition

EGON - Drinks a ton of it oh my god - WAY too much cream and sugar though ew - Only one who's ever been able to figure out how to make his coffee is Peter (who hates it)

PETER - Also a caffeine addict - Drinks it strong, with maybe half and half but never anything super sweet - No one makes his coffee for him he is finnicky

WINSTON - Only normal coffee drinker - Drinks a normal amount - Normal amounts of creamer - Doesn't have to worry about anyone making his coffee because he's usually the first up

RAY - Drinks coffee only in the mornings - Straight black coffee - Doesn't have to worry about anyone making his because all they have to do is pour into a mug

JANINE - Pretty much the same as Winston - Iced coffee drinker for sure - Loves flavored creamers (Especially caramel)

SO. I was thinking about Egon, Ray and Peter and it seems that there is a school of thought that Peter just slacked off and got Egon to pretty much do his doctorates for him.

HOWEVER. I'm not sure I agree. Egon is clearly the smartest of the bunch - he's very very book smart but that doesn't mean he's not smart in other ways. He's pretty clued in more or less to the world around him, he's just not that interested in social niceties. But he's exactly as smart as he appears to be.

Ray, is different. He's above average in intelligence but he's someone who has to slog to obtain knowledge. But that is fine because he LOVES learning new things, new skills, he thrives on it and will throw himself enthusiastically into whatever new skill or knowledge that he needs to master. It just doesn't come to him effortlessly the way it does to Egon. He's also a tinkerer - the sort of person that takes things apart to see how they work.

Now Peter is also very smart. I think he falls in between Egon and Ray. However, he likes to be underestimated so he plays at being dumb at times because he likes to keep others off guard, especially Egon who generally finds him exasperating because he knows Peter is smart. Peter also generally has excellent people skills and is a great judge of character because he has developed this laid back slacker persona that rubs people up the wrong way and while they are busy being irritated or dismissive of them he's mentally taking them apart to figure out what makes them tick.

I'm convinced Lars isn't really sure how he got the job at the lab and at this point is too afraid to ask. My proof? Bro, trust me.

OK RAH HOLD UP!! MORE HEADCANONS!!!

Phoebe took up playing an instrument. Melody mentioned she liked guitar so she tried to learn guitar but switched to learning bass instead. Her, Podcast and Trevor sometimes play together. (Podcast on the keyboard, Trevor on drums and Phoebe on bass.)

Phoebe also develops cheimaphobia/ cryophobia. She is deathly afraid of the cold ever since the whole world nearly ending in a second ice age. This results in her almost always wearing far too many layers resutling in her overheating on several occasions.

Chappell. Fucking. Roan. I don't feel like I need to explain myself. She likes Chappell Roan's sadder songs and you just know she has a playlist of Billie Eilish and Mitski. Our nerdy girl is depressed as hell.

Melody has very severe nightmares, she often finds herself playing with her matches. (I guess old habits do die hard.) The matches can't actually burn her so they do calm her a little bit which her family finds very strange.

Now having fully passed on Melody has no idea what is going on with Phoebe and is pretty frequently worried, she's stressed almost all of the time.

Melody has Eisoptrophobia or at least she had it for a long time after she passed. When she finally passed on her body was no longer coporeal (I think thats the right word?) However she can't look in the mirror without seeing herself in that translucent blue form. Despite now looking like a physical human being.

i headcanon that 1) trevor is bi and 2) regardless he is a fierce ally. especially for his sister who is lesbian. he celebrates lesbian visibility week on BEHALF of phoebe. who's like can you relax just a little. but he's like Woo!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!! Happy Lesbian Visibility Week!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(and probably make a dorky joke about how he can finally see her - as if he hasnt seen her every day for his entire life.)
