A ghost legend
One cold winter night, an elderly religious woman awoke late, because she thought that she heard the bell from the local church ringing. She never missed a mass, so she made her way to the church. But somehow everything was different: All seats were occupied except for one and the lights seemed to be brighter than usual. She sat down and started listening to the priest as he spoke. Shortly before the end of mass she noticed that her mother and her cousin were sitting beside her, but they had been dead for many years by now. When she looked around, she realised that the church was full of people she knew and all of them were already dead. The old woman became scared and fled from the church. An inner voice told her that she must leave something behind in exchange for her life. She took off her fox skin scarf and obligingly left it at the gate. When the old woman finally arrived home, she told her son what had happened Her son and his friend set out in search of the pelt... and they found it... One tiny piece of it was laying on every single grave in the grave yard near the church... however there were no footprints in the snow leading to or from any of the graves... These events happened in the church "Zur lieben Frau" in Bamberg. Which is a real location.
