No capes Ghosts! Au I came up with but then stored in my drafts forever.

Thomas and Martha died in the late 1800's, shortly after building the Manor when someone broke in to rob them. They left their house to their son.

In the 1940's a traveling circus came through town to perform and were invited to be guests of the manor. Dick, one of the trapeze artists, sneaks away from the dinner to go exploring and suffers an accident.

In 1983, Jason breaks in, needing money and resorting to burglary. Unfortunately, he surprises the current homeowner and doesn't make it out.

The owner decides to move out of the house due to all the deaths that have happened, but can't bear to sell it, so it just sits empty for several years. Until a group of kidnappers break in to hide with Tim and wait for his ransom. When they hear that his parents called the police against their orders, they leave him where they hid him and skip town.

Now in modern day the owner passes away and the house passes to the closest living relative; Bruce Wayne.

Bruce, his young son Damian, and his fiancee Selina Kyle jump at the opportunity to move from their tiny apartment into Wayne Manor despite the extensive repairs that will be needed from how long it sat empty.

After they move in, however, they end up meeting the ghosts that reside there

Hi! I was looking through your ghost au (which is fantastic, by the way!) and it got me wondering - do the ghosts have any sort of travel time between places in the physical world, or do they just appear wherever they please?

Mainly, I’m curious as to whether a ghost would have to track a specific living person down if they wanted to see them, or if they could just pop up wherever that person is. When it comes to ghosts that would want to haunt several people at once, can they go back and forth between them easily, or do they have to keep track of distance and location?

The ghosts can teleport! It's finicky and takes a while for the newer ones to figure out, but essentially the people and places they spend the most time around (either in life or death) become Anchor Points, where they can warp to at will!

For most ghosts, there's a cooldown of about a minute or two so they can't just rapidly teleport between two different Anchors. Wraiths can bypass this effect using their portals, those take longer than instant teleportation, but do allow transport to areas that aren't Anchors without having to actually walk/fly there lmao

Let's use Ace as an example. When he first manifests, he's able to teleport to Luffy obviously, The Moby Dick, Marco and some of the other commanders, The Spades, Dawn Island, and Dadan. He doesn't think to try Sabo for a while, but he's a firm Anchor point too. Ace however cannot teleport to Garp until he haunts the man for a while, due to those training visits being short and far in-between. He also cannot teleport to Baltigo until he's been haunting Sabo for a while. You get the idea!
