Onto another Rant on my Jurassic world chaos theory Dino apocalypse AU

Personally for me if I ever had the strength to write this AU because Darius got sidelined in his own show he needs to be one of the focuses genuinely in this AU

Mainly because in a use like this there needs to be a character that is completely altered because of the circumstances and Darius is right for the picking because of how optimistic he is and I am a sucker for the trope of the basic Sunshine character becoming changed drastically through losing a loved one..

In this au I would make him lose multiple. His mom , Brand .....possibly Ben ??

He's literally having a nice day out with his family days after joining his friends for a protest and they get attacked Darius is injured badly and presumed dead but only because Brand was shielding him and he was laying still. The dinosaur handler doesn't bother checking because who can survive an attack like this?

He has to lay there till they leave and drag himself up he can barely sob because he fears being found and had to drag himself somewhere to nurse his injuries then to s payphone to call Sammy

Who by this point thinks Darius's dead before rushing to pick him up. She patches him up better and still shocked Darius doesn't have the strength to talk about what he witnessed and is trying to get his mind off this so he turns on the TV and it's the news it's nothing good. Tries being on his phone mother good and many posts are graphic to....

And it's all around him he's watching and hearing in real time and experiencing the world crumble

The government is taking beautiful animals and creatures that he loves and using them to commit acts of violence. And all he feels is pain anger and pain. They took his family the lives of other people and they are using one of the things he loves to silence people.

It feels like something in him died

And that's what radicalized him

Behind the scenes as he's helping others and trying to help his friends he feels this simmering hate grow. Everyone else is having problems and at this point.

And because it's honestly almost just like chaos theory as a plot nobody thinks to check on him because he just seems to handle trauma Soo well he's functional.

But he's not fine anytime they come across someone who hates dinosaurs he wants to chew them out. Dinosaurs that run into people are also being violently attacked and the group come across a few. And it makes Darius feel sick he hates it...he hates people . All human beings have done so far to hurt others and cause pain. Hurt and destroy everything because they just can.

So given a chance he snaps and he hurts someone who looks like they deserve it

Because he can

Because why not he's human to

Must be in his nature....

I would give anyone my soul if they wrote a Jurassic world chaos theory apocalyptic AU.

Basically an au that completely ignores the most recent movie in the Jurassic world franchise and basically goes the route of a world that would likely be overrun with dinosaurs around the world.

We're essentially similar to covid the government kind of doesn't do much to actually help its people deal with the dinosaurs and if anything they find a way to capitalize on the existence of dinosaurs in different ways.

Poachers taking the horns and body parts of herbivorous dinosaurs for profit.

Company slowly introducing dinosaur meat into our diets because they find that even though dinosaur is likely produce more methane than cows they could profit more off of selling dinosaur meat because there's more meat on the bodies than a bovine so they start pushing the idea that dinosaurs are better food source because.

A: and there are related to birds so likely their meat is leaner

B: ....... Everyone's low-key already tired of eating either beef or chicken so why not have a different alternative??

C: companies will probably flex that the meat was wild caught therefore probably better

Even though this wild caught dinosaur meet was probably from a dinosaur that was nibbling on some trees or bushes by a run-down gas station and said plants that I was eating from was probably getting most of its nutrition from the toxic runoff of the roads around it....

Basically the government would just have more reasons to cut corners

But also on top of that in this universe I feel like there will be protests about the mistreatment of dinosaurs by the government as well as the fact that we literally saw in chaos theory that dinosaurs were being used to silence social and political opponents. And the thing is I feel like no one talks about this that much.

Because in the first Jurassic world movie we already saw that they remembers of the government who are interested in using dinosaurs in the army for combat.

Years later when the nublar are adults we're now seeing that escalate into dinosaurs being used to silence people

Who's to say the next step isn't to use these dinosaurs to silence the public

They made the bad guys members of the elite class but we forget now that in the modern day majority of the elite class is in our government. The Jurassic world and the Jurassic Park franchise is not necessarily afraid at its roots to point out that rich people are bad but I feel like they don't lean into it as much given the current climate in the fact that now they just want to focus on the shock value of crazy looking dinosaurs.

So I feel like it's up to us and fandom spaces to be the ones the point out the fact that logically within this universe it would be going this route

So just picture it the attempt to use dinosaurs to silence human beings at a protest a protest that probably majority or at least a few of the campfam is attending

Chaos breaks out.... Maybe someone dies or gets badly injured. And then as time progresses things get crazier and due to differing views on how to handle the situation maybe the camp fan breaks apart

Some are too broken scarred by what they've witnessed at the hands of other people to have faith and humanity anymore

Then we fast forward a few years later and human beings are broken into factions. Some humans hate dinosaurs while the others are trying to live amongst them peacefully

Everyone hates the government and is trying to take them down they just have different ideas and what they want that outcome to look like.

But this is my idea either way I would like someone to write a fanfiction like this and they can take my idea and if they write it on AO3 feel free to send it to me I'm the Undeadprincess13 on there!

Just saw your comment on the dinostar post and I have to say you perfectly summed up the feelings I have with a lot of interracial ships in media. It always gives me the ick when it’s portrayed as a BIPOC man having to actively pursue a girl that’s not interested in him and essentially having to “earn” her love

Yes and that honestly hurt because Imma just say it like it is

It feels racist

Why isn't he good enough for her?? Because it never feels narratively like the guy isn't simply Her type he always has to jump through hoops for her

I'm a feminist and I don't think women should chase after men but in these stories and never feels like there's any actual mutual yearning and that's part of the reason why this trope gives me the it

(This isn't specifically talking about Darius from chaos theory but I also find myself feeling this way about Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy as well... Don't get me started on them. Timebomb isnt better but it's an exception)

Because what makes that yt girl so cool?? What makes her the prize 😭 why are they interested in people who don't even like them in that way.

It just feels like a humiliation ritual

I'm bias but like my son is low key perfect he don't need to chase a girl who can't put her phone down during emotionally intimate moments..

I respect Brooklyn's grind but she in many ways ain't the prize

A relationship standpoint

And a feminist standpoint

Because can we be honest what did he see/ think he saw in her?? What do any of these Bipoc male characters c in these women that they narrative we have to chase them.

Why are they always chasing basic whiteness???

In my head I feel like Darius should be with poc who shares his passion for dinosaurs if anything I think it would have been cool if he's found someone who was nerdier than him.

( says this while shopping him with Ben because that white boy is my only exception)

Because I'm 😴 of the white girl with dyed hair 😭😭😭

I feel like during certain moments I get off topic but I hope anyone who reads this understands

Same. He was such a driving force of the first series and I do feel like he lacked the same impact on the plot. Sadly, I feel like his feelings for Brooklynn were his entire driving conflict for the whole show and even then, he wasn’t given the same complex writing as some of the other characters.
