I finally got a text saying my referral to the Gender Identity Clinic has been accepted. Considering I've been on this path since 2018, it's about damn time. Although I still have a lot of waiting to do before getting a first appointment, and then even more to start HRT.

I am on the waiting list for a GIC down south. If I were to move up North, would I have to be transferred to a different GIC?

Hi Anon,

If you move outwith the area that a GIC serves then you MAY be transferred to the correct GIC for your new area. You would need to make the GIC aware of your new address and the new address of your GP.

It’s also worth noting that while the NHS do advise certain things about how services should be run, individual GICs can do things differently.

Please contact your individual GICs for their procedures. It is important to contact individual GICs because procedures do differ.
