I still don't get why they made the new Lagoona pink.

Like yeah they wanted to make the saltwater freshwater racism allegory more obvious but like... why did it have to be Lagoona?

Heeey I snatched her for my rewrite/au wuuuu

Her name is Perla Ridicente (the spanish way of saying it btw), a cute and shy telenovela enjoyer that hopes to someday find that especial one for herself. She will chomp your arm off if you make her angry.

Pretty much similar to g3 Lagoona, but if she is not catching up with Lagoona, she spends most of her time with Ghoulia AND Ghoulia only. So even if she wants to have that “happy ever after”, she doesn’t take the time to know other people, so her dates only end with dissapointment. (Am I setting up a Perla x Ghoulia in the future? That I don’t know myself)

The one thing she hates right now is Gill, not because he is a fresh water monster, but because she sees him as a coward, a liar, a good for nothing fool that doesn’t deserve someone like Lagoona (she kinda right tho-... but what is character development if not to make you less of a pathetic fishstick?)

Spoilers for Fresh Waters Run Deep

I don't have any particularly strong opinions about the recent Gill x Lagoona episodes. Though I will say that my heart aches for all the Dracugoona fans out there. The gay moments they have are insane, and it's a crime that they're not canon </3

But I can absolutely agree with the people on here that are saying that Lagoona and Gill's relationship feels very... rushed. Gill is already calling Lagoona "Goony", holding her hand, blushing, etc. And Gill hasn't even been around for three episodes, and this was his first episode where he actually... had a character?? That wasn't Lagoona gushing about him from afar??

The thing is, it's supposed to be "established" that they spend lots of time together and have gotten to know each other, but that's explained to us in the first minute of Fresh Waters Run Deep. And honestly, the first minute is never something that a lot of us remember lol. So, watching this episode, I could not grasp that these two had known each other for a while now. At least, not enough to be hand holding and getting nicknames. Like, c'mon, Draculaura and Lagoona should be calling each other nicknames like "Goony". -_-

And I'm a sucker for slow burn romance, so seeing Cleo and Frankie, for example, slowly fall for each other has been really lovely. But this...? Idk if it's because they were dating in G1, but even then, this is a new generation. A new series. There still has to be the relationship build up
