#AD Had the best few hours in the afternoon with the daughter. Uninterrupted, and yes I still give her an advent calendar of goodies to open throughout December. Well deserved, a very hard working mum of three (one severely autistic) I like to treat her. An afternoon film and luxury chocolates and biscuits supplied by chocolatiers @elizabethshawchocs It was heavenly taking time out stuffing our faces and not feeling guilty about it. We got to try the new Ginspired Tipples. Have any of you tried them? Swipe to see how lovely they look. Certainly my idea of a girls day in! Pop over for a read on the blog about more of our afternoon . . . #Ginspired #DareToBeYou #girlsnight #girlsday #advent #chocolate #luxury #blogger #myhousethismonth #motherhood https://www.instagram.com/p/B5qJk79gsXy/?igshid=6qrpt3wyumdo
NEGRONI BEFORE CHRISTMAS
https://www.instagram.com/p/B5nwEGFlD4J/?igshid=1wd7i7jod3v36
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house…Home bartenders were stirring, three parts, each one ounce….
There are a number of origin stories where the creation of the Negroni is concerned. As the world celebrated it’s 100th birthday at few months ago, one history has certainly received the popular vote.
It is generally accepted then that the Negroni was first created in Florence at the foot of the Ponte Vecchio in 1919.
It is said that Count Camillo Negroni - a bit of a bon vivant by all accounts - asked the bartender Fosco Scarselli to fortify his standard order, the Americano. Scarselli responded by adding gin in place of the soda and substituting the orange slice garnish with an orange peel twist.
It is unsure whether Scarselli kept a soda water float to his Americano twist, as the earliest recorded recipe for the Negroni (under this name specifically), appears in Amedeo Gandiglio’s “Cocktails Portfolio” in 1947 with a dash of Spritzer.
Wondering whether Count Negroni drank a Negroni at christmas 100 years ago, I thought i’d tuck into my stash of Rosemary infused Campari and make a batch of Negroni’s with seasonal gin.
The Negroni Before Christmas:
✔1oz. clementine peel and cranberry infused gin ✔1 oz. Rosemary infused Campari ✔1 oz. Carpano antico formula (for me the most christmassy of sweet vermouths)
#cheers 🥂!

Home.
That’s where the heart is, isn’t it?
Where is my heart?
A huge part of it is here, where I am right now, sitting in the first home we bought together as a couple. The first home for our family.

We’ve embarked upon some interesting road trips in our time.
I’m not talking about cross-country overseas trips, though we’ve made a few of those too in Kenya, on holiday when I was younger. I…

This week, we have the word: Prep
When I was at school, I used to have a prep book.
What was prep?
Well, in my school, which was an independent institution (Private), homework was referred to as prep.
I wondered why it was called prep
