uni au in which martha ends up becoming friends with a professor who is known as 'the doctor' and might secretly fall for him (in dismay of her roommate donna who likes the doctor well enough but sees hes just a ordinary man who's not actually all that special (protective!donna yay)) but then finds out he is actually seeing another student called rose (idk why the professor is dating students idc just go with it) and martha gets heartbroken because she has idolised the doctor for too long --

-- so she decides to figure out what it is that this 'rose' has that she hasn't but along the way she actually realises that rose is a great girl and they become friends and eventually she might actually go on a date with rose's best friend who is very ordinary and very nice and has a name which is mickey
