(ok, backlog is backlogged, I should try not to let that just block me and all).

(warning some things that could be spoilers).

Well this went in two directions I totally was not expecting! And the thing I knew was going to happen (re Eru) happened completely differently from what I was thinking (well, I think I figured it was probably different from what I was thinking when I first heard it when I found out Promise was a Bell, which happened earlier, but). 

And was incredibly awesome wow I’m glad I went and read it (I’d clicked into it once before though apparently skipped on the beginning even stronger then because I didn’t remember the time setting at all, even like, to ‘it would have meant less to me if I knew less Silm timeline’ levels). 

Much great climax, definitely on my ‘amazing climaxes’ list.

Sauron! I was just thinking about having actually *seen* so little of Sauron. (And interesting brief contrasts with Melkor re being horrible!)

I apparently find the thing with Sauron and Melkor like - standing around and the science questions etc thing really funny/appeal/great.

Most people, even people who really don't like me, would have the good sense to offer the Silmaril in exchange for my surrender or something like that and then take out their dislike on me once the oath is out of the way.

AU of A Tale of Two Hells where Odette shows up instead of Mutant Edie (MaggieoftheOwls, lintamande, Alicorn – page 1 of 31)

I was like ‘I feel like I started this one and didn’t finish it; let’s go finish it’. 

I was right! (that I had started and not finished). Also there was a bit that I seem to have totally though was in here which was not (Odette and Celegorm doing magic and sex a bunch); I think that must be in the one where Celegorm runs into Milliways or something (which I had also started and not finished, I think!). I had also actually totally not realized this thread was done rather than hiatused!

Ran-ish a bit in the middle and not sure if that was a part I’d also earlier read before.

Anyway! 

Character interaction things! Odette and relevant stuff! Bit of Odette world things! Matt saying some things! (For some reason I apparently like the “I was short a hand before I died.” line. Which has a very nice-and-suited icon. (And which I also read twice recently because iirc I did the ‘let’s go finish’ thing a bit back and did a bit and then did other stuff for some days etc and then went back.)) People talking about torture related things a bit! Shipping! Various relationships etc!

That’s a great thought/idea/thing for how this magic works with daeva.

Did Matt somehow manage to get through his entire war not knowing about accidental half-Elves.

I apparently have some strong Beren and Luthien feelings despite like, not actually having read the thing or anything. (My brain: when it’s [meta]you’s you totally go get people together with their matches!) (I’ve noticed this before).

I totally want to see Matt doing this magic system.

It didn’t occur to me right away that prob one of the reasons Matt didn’t want to bring Maedhros in is that he figured Maedhros would think it was an Angband hallucination (and then it did occur to me).  

Circle: I don’t get mad at people for hurting each other! My brain: unless it’s Midnight. (Which to be clear, I *very support* being mad at people for being terrible). (I repeatedly like Odette responding to bad things, it seems.) The other parts of Circle’s approach are, um. Interesting/particular. 

Re Midnight things! No actual Midnight or grimdarda!Findekano, oh well. (My brain totally went off thinking about *him* and the magic system, though I guess they couldn’t let him without an oath to not tell Midnight or something).

...I am interested in this Maedhros and Fingon and etc dynamic and wonder if there’s more of it in the Odette etc threads. (And poor them and fuck everyone, of course.)

(I thought I’d basically read the previous one; just checked and yes except the very beginning, which I’ve now basic-read. Have not read the first one, though I’m in the middle of reading from a click-in.)

(yesterday and finished today)

(probably ran into while trying to find if another Alicorn-ErinFlight thread was on the constellation, because I was doing that, though I don’t actually remember)

I had not met Glen before and her situation seems very worrisome, even as I don’t know what it actually is! (Also I like her).

Apparently ‘character meets an individual abused person’ is another genre of glowfic I like.

The part where Glen starting asking all the magic and demon bio questions was really cool in a ‘oh, characters being different and thinking to/pursuing different things I would not have thought of’ way. Like, we have a lot of characters *using* magic and trying to find *exploits* of magic, and (haven’t read relevant part so don’t know details) I think in RoR using DNA in demons is also used to do stuff. But her mind goes in a completely different direction and it’s cool.

I finally actually finished reading this! (I was rereading parts of far-flung and - I forget what exactly led to me clicking in.) (I’ve spent a while now having read basically all of Shine except literally the end (like, stopped before the ‘inventing thing to kill Melkor’ (not checking right now exactly how much before - after rescuing Kib and all that)) (I’ve know what happened also for a while due to other threads etc). (Though from the Lorien scene it looks like I either clicked around some in sun;children or didn’t read the middle because they reference things I don’t think I remember).

Wow time (yay being told it!) (er, iirc that happens).

Yay winning, of course! I’m a bit amused that the information I had from other threads was in fact not extraneous here - that is was specifically Silmarils made from shines from light of the Sun and Moon. But yay seeing it.

I said on the discord,

Shine is really - goodthings - for like - yeah if they are allied and coordinated and connected and not dragged into pointless awfulness and have the resources they need (manpower-wise and tool-wise) - then they can do it. (without having had stork it would be way worse (they'd need the original Silmarils and they'd need to be using people for the manpower) and might yet not work at all (if that fell short). Which would be be way more bad and less nice. But still, and also still the feeling of the - allied and coordinated and connected and (and alive!))

And yeah the descriptions of all the things, of the doing it.
