Favorite month coming in. We finish this weed out, bring different shit in (type 2 strains), buy more food, waste less money on eating out, and stay in the books and in my headphones. Gotta do Halloween though and at least 3 costumes this year (probably doing too much). All of that, a new computer, getting into therapy, taking this voice training more seriously than I have, some new clothing pieces, getting my window replaced (fuck me, ugh), and getting my first laser hair removal out of the way are all I care about right now.

If I get fucked this month, that's a huge bonus for me and I will absolutely fucking talk about it. 😤😂

GLOWth - Vase.1

FRIENDS,

It's been a long time since my last update and a lot has changed. But I wanted to reach out and let you know that I'm still here! YEAH!!!

I've been working on music. Not only by making it, but currently, to put it simply, by seeing what it truly means to me.

Four months ago I moved into the Center for Mindful Learning to undergo a program that I'm truly lucky to be part of. This has been an unbelievable opportunity for me to deepen my meditation practice, and to learn about how I can best be of service to our wonderful, weird, and extremely fragile world.

MOVING ON.

Last spring I made a record under the name

GLOWth

Vase.1 IS OUT TODAY

It's essentially a reflection of the experience of my formal meditation practice. It was one of the most fun and challenging experiences I've done within the context of making music, just like sitting meditation is always fun and challenging in the context of existing as a sentient being.

Vase.1 was mixed and mastered by Starkey, who I first encountered as a 16-year-old when I saw him open for Jamie Lidell back in April 2006. I remember very clearly being smacked in the face with inspiration that night. I'm so lucky to have worked with him on this release!

The artwork was done by one of my oldest friends on the planet Julie Hyun, with additional styling from the incredible Amory King.

I'm thankful for the efforts of my small yet mighty creative team on this project.

So what's in store for the DJDubbs?

I find that the more I focus on my training at the Monastic Academy, the more music means to me and the more I want to share it with the world...not just the music I make, but sharing the ways that music has helped me grow, and how it continues to push me as I disappear into it and reappear from it, suddenly awakened to a newly uncovered truth every time the song begins and ends, and in every moment in between.
