The IF Quintuplet Modern AU nobody asked for! (that I wanted carnally)

Totally didn't forget about Tumblr again- Actually I was procrastinating on upload coz I realized PNG was too powerful for Tumblr and I had to go back into my file to re-export it as jpg lmao

The AU is definitely inspired from some of the JP fanarts (too lazy to list im sorry) and the design was done by @aiaalina! We were chatting about it and well, I decided to write a fic based on this AU! It is a mixed from the Otome Game AU that came out during April Fools!

Say what? Fic? I am going to write another damn fic??? YEA I am going to write another fanfic (I am going to die). I miight post some snippets eventually but rn I will just write a bunch of words to give everyone a rough idea of this AU *wink wink* Its super messy though.

For the people who can't read the kanji text, the bros are being arrange from eldest to youngest from left to right. For question of how many minutes they are apart from each other... Well... I would assume for quintuplets they would be only a few minutes apart, I haven't exactly decide on the time for the people who wants the lil minor details lol. It may or may not come up in the fic eventually when these mfs fight over who is the eldest down to the millisecond HAHA. Also because I love Beatrice... She will be the adopted daughter of the family please love her thank you.

All these are tentative note and may subject for changes in the future, I am open to any ideas (as long as I like them) so feel free to share heh...

A quick set up, only Envy will be called 'Subaru' and the others just uh. Just gets a blanko name (I couldn't come up with anything smart ok?!) Between just the brothers, they call each other by nicknames. Some close friends will call the other brothers by their nickname since it is their preference (plot convenience)

Greed: Eldest of the brothers, doesn't sleep because he is always up late studying. If all his brothers are special in their lil thing then he will be the smart one (unironically the dumbest im sorry). Is definitely in a toxic co-dependent relationship with Echidna, none of his brothers really like Echidna, but then they can't stop him either lol. Probably also friends with the other witches as well. He is usually polite around the main gang but there is just something off that prevents him from being close friends with them unlike Envy...

Wrath: Due to some (cough) unforeseen circumstances, he was traumatized after (insert incident) and had trouble coping ever since. He usually goes to school for tests and exams but most of the time he is home-schooled. His brothers are usually the one taking home class notes and homework for him. Have severe insomnia, probably PTSD too, physically the weakest so everyone tries not to be too rough around him coz this guy look like would cripple at just a touch.

Pride: I was originally going to put Envy in the middle, but then Pride simply screams middle-child energy to me. So there you go, this is the middle-child. He wears some piercings, used to be part of a gang but left due to (insert unforeseen circumstances). Sometimes some rival gang would try to attack him, but then people are blind and don't check, the other brothers would often get attacked as well. He gets extra mad if they attack the wrong person. Likes to pull pranks, probably the most attention seeking out of all the brothers.

Envy: Yay, its the main guy. Still the student council president, tends to be hanging out in the student council room working through council things. He is really your typical everyday Subaru who is less traumatized and more chill! As for the story setting, he worked through his daddy issues since childhood after getting his ass whooped by friends (can be Otto I guess... UGH... Its you again...) Overall, a real chill guy! He managed to become the student council president simply by being a cool guy! He thinks its only because of Reinhard that he made it here, but since he is already here he still works his 110% as the student council president. WHAT A HARDWORKER (tears up)

Gluttony: The youngest and probably the most insane one. Got into a car accident when he was younger (with the brothers as witness, no, I'm not evil, say what?) Woke up with white hair (we don't ask how here) and left a scar on his forehead. Lost all his memories, due to the confusion, he had a period of time mistaking his identity with 'Subaru' (Envy). Eventually he did learnt he was not Subaru, but then he doubled down on trying to be like 'Subaru'. He tried too hard so he sucks at it. He still gets along with the other brothers, but then he would insult them for not being like 'Subaru' much to Subaru's ire. But its ok, most of them are used to it and as long as he doesn't go too far, they are chill.

So yea, this is a really long essay that is super messy but if you like this and want more uhhh, hold me at gunpoint I guess! There are still a lot I am still setting up especially the relationship dynamic between the 5 of them along the other cast. But it will be a mostly wholesome fic where the brothers are well, brothers! They don't hate each other and still care in their weird little Subaru ways!

this may be my like third ottosuba post in a row but like hear me out okay like theres something about how varied their dynamics are in each if. like its about the inherent tragedy of it all - the "you ruined my life" and "you betrayed me" and "you've hurt everyone around us and theres nothing i can do, so goodbye forever" and "i hope you rot". its the forced subservience that pride otto and wrath otto have to have, except wrath otto breaks free of it and indulges in just stabbing subaru, knowing subaru's going to die anyway. pride otto serves subaru, knowing he's marching towards his grave, knowing he's aiding subaru in all his crimes, knowing he doesn't have the energy to care anymore. greed otto has watched subaru manipulate everyone around them and he's had enough - they were almost friends, and otto WANTED to be friends, wanted to BELIEVE they were friends, but it was never the case. and so he leaves behind the first person he ever considered a friend, along with the camp he could've befriended too. and then theres gluttony otto - an otto whos become friends with subaru, an otto that has subaru as his closest friend, an otto whos found community in the emilia camp and has garfiel as his younger brother and cares about all these people so much. and then subaru destroys all of them, and it's just otto and garfiel left until subaru destroys garfiel too along with ottos younger brother regin, meaning subaru killed two of ottos brothers in one fell swoop. subarus this twisted version of himself now, claiming that he destroyed priestella and so much of the people within it so he could get to OTTO. it's like rubbing salt in the wound - in some fucked up way, otto is now the biggest priority in subarus life. like most people in the if routes, otto gets crushed just like any other victim of subarus plans and decisions, but in gluttony if he still decides to keep his bravado and anger and his last words are LITERALLY "eat shit, you phony". he damn well knows theres no hope for him and he still decides to go out fighting. ottosuba in each if really is just. theres a violence to it - and not just literal violence, i mean as in gluttony if subaru considers otto a threat, and otto is also someone who has a lot of memories specific to him about subaru. pride subaru is basically otto's second "master". otto steals power away from wrath subaru by helping in taking him down. otto completely disregards greed subaru and avoids the same fate as the rest of emilia camp by REJECTING subaru when the whole point was subaru being GREEDY. subaru couldnt keep otto with him, while otto managed to break free of subaru.

it's about the power dynamics of it all - especially when BOTH of them are capable of the same manipulation and mind games.
