UNIFONT // plane-0 as noisebed
For signal // noise I’ve been using GNU Unifont across the captions, diagrams, and terminal-styled layouts. It’s a typeface built to contain everything — the entire Basic Multilingual Plane, thousands of glyphs, pictographs, box-drawing characters, fragments of languages I’ll never speak.
When you zoom out, its full Plane-0 chart looks like CRT snow: a dense field of micro-signals, tiny black squares arranged like static. Perfect for a project about deafness, interference, and misread meaning.
Unifont becomes more than a font here — it’s a glyph archive, a seed library, a noise texture baked into the visual identity of Process Zine #00. A reminder that text is also a pattern, and meaning is always approximate.
