We are one month away from JMU Giving Day 2019! This year a portion of donations to CISR will support the new James Madison University student organization, Dukes for Demining and Peace. This organization gives JMU students the opportunity to work with the local refugee population through Church World Service and Harrisonburg High School while advocating for a landmine-free world.

There were High Fives all around Pittsburgh's Bluff today as the Duquesne Dukes cruised to an easy 85-71 Win over George Washington—the Win eclipses their win totals, overall (17) and in the Atlantic 10 Conference (8), from last year; and their 13th win at home at #PackPalumbo equals the all-time mark in A.J. Palumbo Center history! DUKES WIN!!!

Since I’m involved in freshman orientation at my school I’m included in the freshman Facebook page and I was trying to find everyone on my team so I could add them on fb and I found this post where a HUGE group of girls are uplifting and supporting each other and making friends with each other and I just think it’s the best thing.

 Like these girls admitted that everyone they've seen on the page is gorgeous and initially thought everyone would be a stuck up bitch but they all put those ideas aside and actually got to know each other and honestly I’m so proud. This is the way girls should treat each other. We should uplift and support each other, not belittle and discourage. I’m just so happy and I wish everyone had this sort of perspective. It’s so natural to pre-judge people, you can’t stop it, but these girls put their prejudice aside and wanted to see who was really inside and it’s just so great to see that there are literally hundreds of people going to my school who are willing to do that
