Alright so, I spent the whole night revising and editing the original, and I hope I fixed everything wrong with it. And again, thank you so much for reviewing them~
Bonus: Here are some actual drawings of the duo I made while I was revising, rather than just sprites.
He’s the self-proclaimed “ruler” of a VERY small village. (I don’t know, does 28 or so people even count as a village?) He’s pretty much insane. Imagine Lemongrab from Adventure Time, downright ridiculous. If it weren’t for his massive size, people would just dismiss him as the underground equivalent of “that meth-head down the street”. Unfortunately, because he’s “in power”, he gets to run around doing whatever he wants. Fuieg just doesn’t care. As long as it humors him or gets him out of work, he’ll do it. However, because he’s so large and incompetent, he often requires the assistance of his subjects, which is a great pain to them. He initially started as an obscure thug, but slowly rose to power through vague intimidation, manipulation, and amazing luck. Really, the only reason he’s “in control” of the village is because it’s so isolated that only about 3% of people know it even exists, and it’s so hard to access that everyone just assumes it’s doing fine without even checking up on it. In fact, most people just assume that everyone previously occupying the village is dead. To give you a basic idea:
Plus, even if someone wanted to run to Asgore so they’d be saved, they couldn’t. Many years ago, there was a massive avalanche that blocked off the village’s only entrance, cutting it off from the rest of civilization. Shortly afterwards, Fuieg seized the opportunity to take control, now that nobody could fight back… Well, they could try, but it’s like trying to fight whilst being a quadruple amputee. Granted, these villagers are very, very weak. So, Fuieg isn’t even that much of a threat when compared to the rest of the Underground’s populace. A D tier, at best. If anyone outside of the village were to really fight him, he would get wrecked almost immediately. Some say that even his servant is stronger than him. Speaking of which…
She’s Fuieg’s primary “servant”. She has been for as she can remember, so she’s just accepted it. She stands there next to her master Fuieg, looks like a pretty decoration, and occasionally holds his stuff for him. All she is is decoration, really. Well, that and a bodyguard. Any person who crosses his path that wishes to fight him will come to learn that he’s far too lazy to fight for himself, and will instead send Slaviette out to fight him instead. She just accepts it though, as she has been conditioned to believed that her life means nothing for so long, that’s all she knows. When she would speak, it would always be this strange raspy whisper, since she’s not used to talking, and usually isn’t permitted to talk loudly. It’d take some major effort on the part of the player to actually grant her some self-esteem again. Once she gets in again though, she still has a few problems. She still displays many submissive behaviors, such as the submissive body language and reluctance to display opinion, a very “go with the flow” kind of personality. She also gets clingy very quickly, almost like a pet, as is how she’s conditioned and trained to be. You can see this when she might hook her arm around the players’ arm and follow them around constantly, not unlike what she used to do with Fuieg… Dangerous and unhealthy devotion will be a recurring theme with her. Mostly represented by her and her subtle obsession with Fuieg, constantly being afraid of what Fuieg might do if he finds her treachery, as if he still controls her. Of course, after getting Fuieg out of the picture, she’s still very dependent and loyal. She eventually starts getting attached to the player, throwing herself in front of the player if they are in danger. She’s driven by her feelings for her higher-ups, and a certain sense of duty to them. The player saved her from certain peril, so she shows her gratitude in the only way she knows how- sacrifice and eternal dedication. All those gestures together hold a specially powerful meaning to a lonely, broken being.
…On a less psychologically-damaged note, some of her other traits include her love for symmetry, and her rather diplomatic nature. She’ll shy away from conflict and attempt to bring resolution through means other than fighting, and is sometimes successful. She despises dishonesty as well. Also, ever since she was given a freedom of choice, any time anyone asks her for her opinion on something, she lights up like a glow stick, and she gets this giddy, child-like smile that you can find on any prepubescent kid that’s trying something new and exciting for the first time. Of course, this can lead to her not knowing when to say the right things at the right time, which can lead to some problems. She also gets excited at any and all travel-related activities, even when they’re a bit… Less than ideal, since she was never allowed to explore and see new places before. Also, even though she’s free, she still feels uncomfortable showing her eye, so she conceals it underneath her hair whenever possible. She’s growing into it, though.
1. She has a dorky laugh and, well… Dorky “happy noises” in general.
2. As a general defense mechanism, whenever she’s grabbed suddenly or frightened, she’ll just go limp and/or just fall over, kinda like a rag doll cat or a fainting goat.
Pacifist Route - You venture to this god-forsaken village after hearing rumors going about that there might be some valuable treasures strewn about the supposed ruins. Through your sheer determination, you’re able to clear the avalanche and reopen the ruins to the world, now attempting to search for that treasure you were promised. On the contrary, you find something much more interesting… Of course, After running around for a bit, you keep hearing about this scary thug, Fuieg, who has everyone’s neck under his boot. You confront him for this, but he dismisses you as a mere pushover, and then forces his slave to fight you. You keep pressing mercy, but she doesn’t let up. (also, in the middle of the fight, her hair is shifted a bit and you can actually see her eye normally) After spamming mercy about 7-10 times, Fuieg finally has enough and tosses her out of the way (think grabbing her by the ankle and just kinda swinging her around) and fights you himself. In this situation, you’re supposed to run away. In doing so, you grab Slaviette’s wrist and run with her. Naturally, Fuieg tries to run after you to get her back. However, he can’t fit through the front entrance, so you two make it out alright. Once you two find a safe spot where you can finally relax, you kind of just sit there and try to comfort her as she’s having a massive panic attack. You can barely make out her words, you can only understand snip-its such as “gonna slaughter us” and “I can’t I can’t I can’t please help (dry heaving)”. Eventually, after enough comforting and calming her down, she gradually settles and expresses her gratitude. She rattles off a few details about how bad it was, and how she thought that he was going to punish her for incompetence, but you saved her and stopped the madness. [TO BE WRITTEN]
(At some point in the story, you inform Asgore of the village’s pitiful state, so he finally rushes over there now that there’s no avalanche blocking the way, imprisons Fuieg for his wrongdoings, and brings all the villagers to safety, and the villagers rejoice.)
Genocide Route - You encounter the village during your psychopathic murder spree, and attempt to murder the ruler, as is how you are. Fuieg sends Slaviette out as normal. However, since mercy is for bubble-blowing-double-babies, you kill her. After you deliver the final blow to her, she falls to the ground, and she’ll finally say something. In the shaky text, she’ll utter her final words:
She then starts laughing wildly.
She’s seeing the very concept of her own death for the first time in her life. For the first time, she’s seeing something other than serving. For the longest time, she’s just been in a limbo, accepting that the servitude was all her life was going to be, and it would last forever. But, for once, she saw something different: the end. No more struggles, no more choke holds on her freedom, just nothing. And she’d rather take that. She sees death, and she’s not scared, not anxious, but ecstatic.
So she welcomes the sweet embrace of nothing, and dies.
Shortly afterwards, you wipe the floor with Fuieg, and leave the village as if nothing out of the ordinary happened.
Once again, holy fuck your art is amazing.
The situation for Fuieg makes a lot more sense, considering the village is completely isolated with no way in or out unless you clear the wreckage. Slaviette is a much better character than she was before, not to mention she is absolutely stunning. I really do love these two, so great job on revamping them.
Slaviette has no time for your clown-nose looking ass, Fuieg. Get your shit together.
