After reading Never Have l Ever by Joshilyn Jackson last year, bookish friend @southern_girl_who_reads recommended l also read gods in Alabama by Jackson. Thank you Shannon 😄 This book is about secrets - perceptions - prejudice - and what family does to protect family. We all have an Aunt Florence. Listening to the narrator made me feel like I was back in my hometown Walmart talking to the greeter. (“Yes, l would like a sticker. 😃) If you ever lived in a small town so much of this book will be familiar. And if you grew up in a small town in Alabama, it’s a little like going home. Great story from Jackson and great performance from Catherine Taber. Gods In Alabama

Dear H,

PLEASE READ THIS YESTERDAY!  We need to discuss some things that I can't tell you, because spoilers, but WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO DISCUSS!

Enticements: witty writing, excellent pacing, strong twists with a very satisfying ending.  I'd give the characters a solid 8/10, to be honest I wasn't really fascinated with them, this book was mostly a plot driven love for me.  

Genre: Southern.  Is that a genre?  Like how boarding school books are a genre?

PLEASE FRIEND, lest I die from lack of talking to you about it.  Read the damn book.
