WoL: Sunday May 10th, 2015
Workout log; Sunday, May 10th 2015
Sundays use to be the day that I just ran 30 mintues on a treadmill with the intention of just improving cardio, while working legs. Welp, now that I have this handy dandy 10 Week workout plan posted by fitnesstipsonly I now have a routine on sundays. Onward to the Log
9 min run; .76 distance
45 Jumping jacks - breeze
15 Squats - Not bad
5 Jumping squats - Oh, there’s the burn
50 Russian twists - Lower back and abs on fire? check
30 second plank - meh
10 standing calf rises - ahh, nice and easy
5 Kneeling push-ups - felt good
30 second superman - didn’t feel as good as I thought!
10 lunges (each leg) - Pretty good burn once again
40 crunches - workin on those abs
Summary
Pretty light in hindsight. I guess if I were doing the whole list instead of just 4 days out of 7, then I would appreciate the low counts on some of the exercises. All in all though, I still feel like I did quite a bit. Looking forward to tomorrows monster of 150 jumping jacks
Oh right, and I guess I should add that I’m taking the 30 day yoga challenge, and boy, let me tell you, this is gonna be a rough 30 days! I’v always had a misconception that yoga is all about stretching out and meditating. Ohhh no, some of those poses make “15 squats” look like baby work! I appreciate how everything can flow in yoga, so kudos to the lovely Adrian for making the series and guiding me through it.
In summary, sunday is a “light” day, and I appreciate that. Also, I’v greatly underestimated the amount of “workout” that yoga can give you, but I guess that’s to be expected from someone who’s only seen yoga in very small doses. ANywho, I’ll end it there. Later
Mind Body Spirit (Kinda)
So I’v decided that I need an overall goal to shoot for in order to help take me from where I am now to what I want to be; Alpha. I’v been playing around with the idea of making like some kind of fitness goal mixed with an educational goal, but I felt that would be too specific, and not scale very well. Upon further brain racking, I think I may have found an acceptable backbone to use that will allow me to direct my “Going Alpha” in the originally intended direction!
I present to you all my totally not a rip off of the “mind body spirit” mantra! :D
Knowledge, Fitness, Emotion
Knowledge - To push the functional knowledge to new limits as to enable the improvement of both status and mind-state. Keystone achievements in this category include but are not limited to achieving a certification, earning a promotion or gaining a deeper understanding of a hobby.
Fitness - To push the limits of the physical body beyond what it once was as to improve both physical appearance and overall health. Keystone achievements in this category include but are not limited to being able to become more tone, improving cardio performance and range of flexibility, or consistently making healthier eating choices.
Emotion - To push the exploration of self and others as to encourage the mutual understanding and acceptance of both what is felt within and among others. Keystone achievements in this category include but are not limited to coming to terms with an internal struggle, developing a willingness to not just cope, but accept, or to accept what is and not what could be.
I still haven’t though up any creative way to say “Knowledge, Fitness, Emotion”... maybe KFE.... or EFK.... or FEK... Meh I guess it doesn’t matter much what creative ways you can call it, just as long as there is a constant push to go for it.
Anywho, until next time :3
