A tribute to Sally Rand, born April 3, 1904. Here she is on her ‘Dude Ranch’ at the GGIE. This clip of film fell on the cutting room floor, perhaps one of the only surviving film clips from this famous exhibit? Well, at least half a second’s worth of motion picture film. This was from James A. Fitzpatrick’s Traveltalk series of short films. He did a number of Golden Gate International Exposition films, including “A Day on Treasure Island”, “Night Descends on Treasure Island”, and the “Cavalcade of San Francisco”. He also shot scenes from the 1939 short “Mendolsohn’s Wedding March" on the man-made Island.
