They're technically amphitheres btw. They're born green and turn yellow as they grow. As they age they start developing black/brown spots that grow until they die (an extremely old one would just look dark brown/black)

the blue-throated goldentail is a brightly colored hummingbird species found in central america. males are slightly larger and more colorful, with females displaying similar patterns in more muted colors. like other hummingbirds, they are primarily nectarivorous, but also feed on spiders and insects. they are named for the bright golden-yellow coloration on their tail and lower back.
