Pineapple Soul Mates

In this world where everyone was born with timers on their arm, counting down to the time when they’d meet their soulmate, Renji refused to believe in such a concept. There were couples he knew that were just as happy even though they weren’t soulmates. And there were fated pairs that had ended in disaster; how was it possible that one could just fall in love so easily like that?

Looking at his arm, he cursed the timer on it; the time steadily counting down the older he got. Sometimes it counted down accurately, at other times, days passing without the timer moving at all. It was all crap anyways.

At the age of 26, Renji still hadn’t met his, and he doubted that he ever would. It could be anybody in the world! Sighing, he pushes that thought aside as he walks into a tattoo parlor. The one he usually frequented had closed down, and he’d been recommended to this one. He was told that the owner, Grimmjow, did amazing work and would be happy to work on his sleeve.

Walking into the shop, he’s greeted with the smell of ink and antiseptic. Walls lined with samples of some of the artists who worked there. The receptionist walks him into a room where the tattoo artist is waiting, his back back to Renji as he preps some of the colors and needles.

All of a sudden, his arm flares up in a searing hot pain. Alarmed, Renji turns his head to look at his limb only to see the timer at 00:00:00. “No.. no way?? What?” Looking over at who he assumed was Grimmjow, he sees that his arm’s timer reflected his. Finally turning around, Renji’s heart drops at seeing the man standing there. Shocking blue hair, high cheekbones, and those piercing blue eyes. Oh... shit. Was this what they meant when they said it felt like love at first sight when you met your fated pair?
