Lord Ulmo towered over him as he once had, the sea spray blasting him nearly off the rock. Awed, Tuor stood, knowing that this was no mere dream, but a true sending. He opened his mouth, to beg pardon or beg guidance, but Ulmo lifted a hand. Within that hand was something small, weary, weakened, worthy of pity. “There will be no second chance,” Ulmo said, in a voice that shook even the ocean floor. “Not for mercy.”

  What if Ulmo sent just one more dream, five years later? How would the pieces of the gameboard fall? And who would move, at the shift in the wind?
