Being Held Accountable
Its hard to realize and then accept accountability when you have a set back in weight loss. I’ve been there before and kinda going through it right now. Not making the right choices and not paying attention made me go astray.
At my last doctor’s appointment I had a wake up call and had to face the reality that I had gained some weight. I was frustrated, angry, embarrassed, and a slew of other negative emotions. I didn’t like it and wanted to crawl somewhere and hide.
But instead of bashing myself and I decided I will love myself. I calmly rearranged the words in my head to positive affirmations instead of negative ones. Such as “you got this” and “you’re gonna do it” came to mind. What is negative emotions going to do for me anyways? I’ll just feel bad and probably emotionally eat.
I’m choosing to look back to what things I could have done different these last few weeks and apply them now and for the future. I will take responsibility and keep myself accountable for the decisions I have and will make. I have a choice in whatever situation that I am in. I can turn down that trip to that vineyard or that extra taco on my plate. I HAVE A CHOICE!
That being said, it never hurts to have a great support system. Not only will you hold yourself accountable, you can have others to help you as well. Such as when I wanted to order delivery and my roommate said, “hey you can make this meal instead”, this saved me money and a few extra calories. Now that I have taken accountability of my situation. I would love for you all to join me.
