"Though I am not always responsible for what happens to me, I am responsible for how I handle what happens to me." Zig Ziglar
“The pollution of the planet is only an outward reflection of an inner psychic pollution: Millions of unconscious individuals not taking responsibility for their inner space.” Eckhart Tolle.
I just bought 3 kinds of crackers
really feeling the responsibily of adulting
go me
But in that way life works, once I was off the hook it was easy to make the decision to go.
Ann Patchett, Truth & Beauty: A Friendship (HarperCollins, October 13, 2009)
If we are not aware of our unconscious patterns developed from childhood into our adult life, we can do a lot of wrong to ourselves and those around us regardless of our religious education and spiritual affiliations. The unconscious defensive mechanisms have an uncanny way of utilizing our religious knowledge and rational mind to put a positive spin on our position no matter how bad our behavior has been. We may end up hurting many people and when they react back we interpret it as a trial from God and a call to show patience when what we should be doing is taking personal responsibility and rectifying our wrongs.
All Our Yesterdays: Day 264
14.04.20. Daily Mail:
“CARE HOMES CATASTROPHY. 92 new outbreaks in 24 hours ++2,200 homes now stricken++30 deaths over Easter ++ ExMinister says elderly abandoned ‘Like lambs to the slaughter.”
For just a moment forget about the success of the UK vaccination programme and think back to one year ago. After ten years of Tory government austerity, the NHS was so run down that it was unable to cope with the Pandemic. Rather than see hospitals collapse, Johnson’s government made the decision to send as many aged patients, whether infected or not, into care homes to free up desperately needed hospital beds and equipment. But of course, there was a shortage of PPE not only in hospitals, but more importantly in care homes. The result: “lambs to the slaughter."
Whether this decision by the Johnson government amounted to mass murder is a moot point. Amnesty International, in a report about Johnson's handling of the pandemic, said that the high number of deaths in care homes came about as if the elderly were regarded as "expendable"
15.10.20. WSWS.ORG
“…the government’s policy of herd immunity was responsible for mass murder. The government was entirely aware of the probable outcome of their policy and went ahead regardless of the risk to thousands of lives….”As if expendable: The UK government’s failure to protect older people in care homes during the Covid-19 pandemic”, details how, between March 2 and June 12, 18,562 residents of care homes in England died with COVID-19. The vast majority (18,168) were aged 65 and over, representing almost 40 percent of all deaths involving the virus in England during this time frame. Of these, 76 percent (13,844 deaths) occurred within care homes for the elderly.”
No wonder we read this headline at the beginning of this year.

THEY DESERVED SO MUCH MORE, NOT LEAST THE RIGHT TO LIFE
Last Shot's Fired Chapter 33 Responsibility
She lays against him as the aftershocks run through her. God, it is always this way with him. Every time. They were created for each other, of that she has no doubt. They just might have made another life. A red haired lass if their dreams are accurate. Does he realize? She finds the energy to speak.
“Jamie?”
“Hmm,” his hands run up and down her back causing delicious shivers. “aye my wife?”
“My husband we didn’t use a wellie.”
His hands stop moving. “Oh Christ!” he looks down at his cock, relaxed and innocent now. “Claire, I am so sorry. I should have..”
“Not gave in? Asks whether I am on birth control?”
“Are you?”
“No. I am going to if.. Well we haven’t already started a child. But not yet. Been a bit to busy to see to it.”
“Right. Right.” He starts to run his hand through his hair. “There is emergency contraception right?”
“Yes. But is this an emergency? We are married. We want children.”
“All true. But..”
“We can leave here, drive into town. I can go to a druggist get the pill that will bring on my flow, wash away any possibility of a what we might have started. If you wish.”
“No. I dinna wish that. Not at all. If we have made a bairn, well I will be the happiest proudest da ever. If we haven't, I will be when we do. I just wanted you to know I take equal responsibility.”
“I know that baby. You are the best.” He relaxes as she sits back between his legs.
“What do you hope for?”
“Well, I would like to have you to myself awhile longer. But, I've seen them. Our bairns. With my hair and your eyes. A lass and then a lad. So, if she is on the way, I wilna complain. What about you?”
“I feel the same. You are through training. I have an established practice. We are married. If we are pregnant, it isn’t a bad thing. But let's make sure to use wellies from now on.”
“Aye. Have you thought about names?” She grins up at him.
“Have you?” he nods. “Care to share?”
“Elizabeth Julia. For her mam and grandma.”
“Jamie.” She breathes.
“If that be alright.”
“It is wonderful. But your family..”
“Is represented by the last name.”
“If we are wrong and it is a lad?”
He grins. “We aren't,” he places his hands over her abdomen. “but I have thought about that too. What do you think of William Henry?”
“Adore it.”
“Hum,” he rests his head on hers. “Married but a day and named our children.”
“Efficient.”
“Aye. Shall we move to the bed, Dr. Fraser as the water grows cold?”
“Yes Mr. Fraser.”
Second of four drawings for my Marvel project. After Loki we have a sulky Thor. As Odin (Loki) said: "One son who wanted the throne too much. Another who will not take it". To be the son of Odin and The God of Thunder. To be the rightful heir to Asgard throne ... I see Thor as someone who thinks he's ready for all these responsibilities but in reality he's not. I think he's not mentally mature enough yet. At least this is what I perceived watching the movies. I see him as a character with a mix of emotions and I wanted to try to represent it in this drawing. The colors of the liquid are: light gray (the hammer, what physically represents his burdens) - blue (the thunders) - yellow (the throne).
