Said goodbye this last weekend to the place we called home for 2 years. The place we established our residency in Pittsburgh. So many memories with family and friends who came to visit. Now we live up the street and I have a yard for great BBQ’s and even more room for family and friends to visit. As a whole the 3 week long trip to Greece was far better than I could have ever hoped for by giving me an experience that has never been rivaled in my entire life. From start to finish there was never a dull moment and time after time I would see something and I say to myself, I have never seen this and might never again in life. Ancient Greece is something many people will read about but few from the US will truly get to experience and almost none in the way our group did it, seeing almost every important site there is to see. After my three weeks I can safely say my favorite part and the part I would skip on if i came back ever. By far and away my favorite part of the trip was our 3 days on the Island of Crete, the two days in Heraklion and one night in  Rethymno, blew me away and will definitely be a place I want to go back to just maybe fly there and not take the ferry. It also had the best place in the entire trip at Matala beach a place I will never forget. While the Peloponnese was certainly a must see area I personally feel like one time is good enough because the sites were really the only thing to see as many of the town were small and didn’t have nearly as many things to do as other places. My favorite historical site easily has to be Delphi because it had everything you would want to see in a historical site. My Favorite city has to be Thesolniki and while Kalmabaka and Athens where amazing I just feel Thessaloniki was the most modern and would be a place I would want to live in. All in all my time in Greece is an experience I hope to tell my kids about one day for everything it had going for it with few disappointments and only memorable moments and people. Again I just want to restate from my introduction that I apologize about not being able to post all of these till after the trip I have many issues with my computer, while many of these were written over the course of the trip it was not able to post till the end and I am very sorry for the inconvenience.
