Why I created Bloom Sleeve 🌿
A few years ago, I had gastric sleeve surgery.
I lost more than 40 kg, but looking back, the number on the scale was only one small part of the whole experience.
There were so many things I wasn't prepared for. The way food suddenly felt different. Losing hair. Learning how to eat again. Going out with friends and realizing that food doesn't fit into your life the same way anymore. The fear of gaining the weight back. And, honestly, all the emotions that come with changing so much, so quickly.
I remember looking for honest information and real experiences, especially in Romanian, and feeling like there wasn't much out there that actually talked about the everyday side of this journey.
That's why I started Bloom Sleeve.
It's not just about weight loss or before-and-after pictures. It's about what happens after the surgery — the small struggles, the things nobody warns you about, the mindset, food, self-care, and learning to live in a body that is changing.
I eventually wrote a book in Romanian, Reeducarea Corpului, because I wanted to put into words some of the things I wish someone had told me before I started.
Now I'm bringing that same idea here, in English.
If you're somewhere on this journey, whether you're thinking about surgery, recently had it, or have been living with your sleeve for years, you're welcome here.
No perfection. No pretending it's always easy.
Just real experiences, useful things I've learned, and a place to talk about the parts people don't always talk about.
