Good Molecules Overnight Exfoliating Treatment
Brand: Good Molecules
Product Type: Exfoliant (Serum)
Price: $6.00 USD
Size: 1.0 fl oz
✔️Clean Ingredients ✔️Cruelty Free ✔️Sustainable Packaging ✔️Vegan
Star Ingredients:
8.1% Glycolic Acid, 1% Lactic Acid: AHAs used to exfoliate dead skin cells, promoting smoother texture, cell turnover, and brighter, more even skin tone
0.1% Salicylic Acid: BHA used to combat signs of breakouts
Sodium Hyaluronate: A form of hyaluronic acid to prevent over-drying from acids
Texture: Watery
Scent: 🌸
No added fragrance. The ingredients do have a slightly unpleasant, medicinal smell.
Results: This is a product that I only use intermittently. The directions specify not using it more than three times a week. I would agree with that assessment. The acid concentration is quite strong, so I'm always careful with SPF application the day after, and I only use 2-4 drops for the entire face, depending on how strong of an application I want.
This is an effective exfoliator. I usually use this when I have patches of dry skin on the cheeks visible under my makeup application. I'd repurchase this if I ever actually ran out. However, at 2-4 drops per application, it lasts a long time. Really, you can't find a better deal.
Comps: Overnight exfoliating treatments are all going to be slightly different. Pacifica Glow Baby Brightening Peel Pads ($16/60 ct) is a mix of 10% AHA & BHA, so it's going to be closer in formulation and function to this one, though there's more lactic acid than glycolic acid in this one. CosRX The AHA 2 BHA 2 Blemish Treatment ($17/1.76 oz) is a mix of glycolic and salicylic acids. The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA ($8.10/oz) only has lactic acid, if your skin responds well to that. Naturium Glycolic Acid Resurfacing Gel 10% ($22.99/3.0 fl oz) is going to be a bit stronger and also contains fruit acids.
i’m here to attest that manifestation is real and that your goals and dreams are not out of reach. got such a surprising and unexpected email about my first pr package because a brand finally is recognizing my dedication to content creation! i feel that this is just the beginning, im very excited!
Good Molecules Bakuchiol Oil Blend for Oily Skin
Brand: Good Molecules
Product Type: Moisturizer
Price: $10 USD
Size: 0.4 fl oz
✔️Vegan ✔️Clean Ingredients ✔️Cruelty Free ✔️Sustainable Packaging
Star Ingredients:
Rosehip Seed Oil, Baobab Seed Oil: Hydrates, balances oil production, nourishes
1% Bakuchiol: Retinol alternative; reduces appearance of fine lines, wrinkles; improves elasticity
Texture: Thin oil
Scent: 🌸🌸
Results: This is a great alternative to retinols and other antioxidants that cause photosensitivity. I had no problems with this at all. A few drops is all you need, and the baobab oil makes this a quick-absorbing oil, so there's less chance of it causing a breakout.
Rosehip seed oil is a great anti-aging multitasker as it's loaded with healthy omegas. It is also a recommended oil if you have sensitive skin.
Bakuchiol is one of those powerhouse ingredients that's popping up everywhere, but it's still a little opaque. Originally used in Chinese medicine, bakuchiol is a powerful antioxidant on par with retinol. Longterm use can help with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
I thought this worked great and is a very reasonably priced alternative to most bakuchiol-centric products.
Comps: If you have dry skin, as opposed to oily, Good Molecules has another blend of this oil for the same price--Good Molecules Bakuchiol Oil for Dry Skin--that uses rosehip seed oil and chia seed oil for the base. This is going to be a heavier, thicker oil that will provide deeper nourishment.
If you're looking for a different brand, try Bybi Beauty Bakuchiol Booster (13 GBP/0.5 fl oz, which is about 15.93 USD). The base is squalane, derived from olives, which is lightweight and generally does not cause breakouts or sensitivity.
Similar in composition, but a slightly stronger formulation, is Handmade Heroes The Ultimate Bakuchiol Booster Oil (18.99 USD/0.75 fl oz). It contains 2% Bakuchiol, compared to Good Molecules and Bybi Beauty's 1%. The base oil is also squalane.
If you want to go more expensive, you could try 100% Pure Bakuchiol Face Oil (55 USD/1 fl oz). It contains jojoba oil, sunflower oil, squalane, and vitamin E. These are all great for skin in different ways. Jojoba is deeply moisturizing and promotes healing. Sunflower seed oil contains lots of healthy fatty acids. Squalane hydrates and soothes. Vitamin E is loaded with healthy fats and antioxidants. The site also promises rather vaguely that is uses the max bakuchiol percentage for optimal clinical results, but doesn't go so far as to say what that is or how much is actually in the oil. However, I wanted you to be aware that this product is out there if you want to try something pricier.
